That is very beautiful! You've captured his intensity very well and it's amazing you did this in charcoal!

Nope. That is Gaius Julius Caesar himself crossing the Rubicon. Augustus will never permit his likeness be spoiled with wrinkles. He forbade it and kept himself eternally young.

god i love your work, you really inspire me to work a lot harder at my own technique, because i look at this and my first instinct isn't "holy tamoly this is amazing!!" (which it truly is) but instead its "I can do that." and then i wanna go do it, and then keep doing it until it looks that good. so thank you for being inspirational and HOLY TAMOLY THAT LOOS AMAZING!!!! lol

This is probably a silly question, but how did you make the background? And did you add digital texture to it? I'm noticing all the small things today, it seems.

Hot stuff. I really like how you used the fine black lines for the ornaments and the laurel wrath. Great work!

Damn! That's some good charcoal work right there...I gotta say, that's immensely wonderful. I'm a very dexterious person, but I never really grasped charcoal; So I really appreciate seeing someone who can wield it's powers! Take care!
