The days of old, I now remember
My childhood dreams, my treasured letters
My rugged dolls, I played with dearly
My playmates’ cheers, I hear them clearly
The grandfather clock along the hallway,
It clicks and chimes the time away
Crumpled papers and my desk of sketches
A broken pencil, a forgotten promise
A rock carved with names I know
A rundown cottage and fireflies aglow
Memories of yesterday, I’ve cried the tears
Memories of yesterday, the music I still hear
