As promised, the artdump of April, dun dun duuuuun. Mostly of ditched WIPs, and spontaneous doodles to entertain myself between work and my ongoing quest to becoming a Pokemon Master. Recently I've been re-attempting digital painting, for as a young'n I was pretty enthusiastic (albeit severely lacking in skills and knowledge)about it- so I figure now that I'm older and wiser, now's a good time to get back into the swing of things before I spoil myself completely on cel-shading only. Although I definitely don't have the attention span to go all-out realistic, ohhhh no lol. All tablet work! Because it's, y'know, just so hard to reach for my sketchbook which is on the ground next to me.Oh man, and while dicking around with character busts I realized there has been a considerable art shift between two years ago and now. Made a visual comparison here if anyone's interested. Idk about you, but I don't think I would've been able to guess these were done by the same person.

Hurhur, it STARTED off as an attempt to stylize Castiel in a somewhat experimental-realistic-painterly style, but then his facial proportions started going kinda off base to the point where I just threw up my hands and was like "SCREW IT you'll be the love child of Cas and Dean or something". Which, may actually be a good thing, depending on your tastes.
YEAH I really need to start visually organizing the CF crew. Lineups make me happy toooo 0w0

Also, I've only seen the first story with Kaito Kid (when the show had that big special with the boat pearl thing) but oh my god that was the coolest episode ever and I loved the interactions between him and Conan. Fffff I need to read the manga more.

A-aw man, it flatters me for you to ask. A webcomic would be a dream come true for me, but not until I iron out a solid plot with competent characters, design and personality-wise. If I'm going to make a somewhat successful comic, it's gotta be planned, not half-assed like most of the other things I do XD. But yes, I do indeed have a comic in the works and I'd really like to get it up and running soon!
I'm inwardly squeeing with joy that Kid's got a pretty decent following here on dA. Kid vs. Conan chapters are pretty much one of the big reasons why I still follow DC's insanely long storyline =>.

I am such a lazy mofo to comment, but I really love seeing your art sketchdumps, your lines are really clean and smooth and your coloring is always vibrant and lively. It really gives cause to inspire people (or at least me, even though again I'm a lazy mofo lol)!

Yes, he is great with his fear of fish. I also tend to not draw fanart of characters I actually really love, it is strange. Maybe it is fear of mangling their image?? But you drew him SHARP and amazingly so it's all good~

That be one of the reasons, especially when that character is already drawn in such a distinctive style. Not to mention I quite failed at drawing way back then, and had to trace all my fanart. Literally

Haha, if had to come down to it, I think realism and I wouldn't jive well at all. But having at least rudimentary knowledge and skills over it really does contribute to any drawing style you choose to pursue '3'.
