Me: laziness. I know I'm capable of creating something detailed with lots of work, but I just don't have it in me. Maybe I'll try harder sooner or later...
Haha, yeah right.
Great tutorial though!

IΒ΄m making a draw that, originally, itΒ΄s make only with vector.
Do I must let it be, and not blur the shadows?

Anyway, err...Is this draw bad? (ItΒ΄s old, but anyway):

I don't understand the first one: can you explain me better how a good gradient is made please?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Spiral-Teardrop In reply to Chivi-chivik [2012-06-22 23:37:02 +0000 UTC]

It's when you lay down your first color, and with a slightly more transparent brush, gently smooth over it with the second color. It takes a little practice, but it's not too hard.

I have used the smudge tool a lot in photoshop but never knew how to do anything else. In other programs there are smoother easier ways to get a better result. As to the coloring on skin I would love a more detailed tutorial on skin coloring and how to place shades and such. I can never get skin tones to look realistic.

I started my Digital Artistness on DA as a pixel artist (and not a very good one either) and I can tell you that these rules generally apply to pixel art as well, although you figure most of them out quickly, the completely different colours needed for skin is something I've just recently learnt.

I'm now a comic artist, and a pretty good one as well, the only problem is I don't do enough detail to use (or break) any of these rules. Although I must say that when I try for detail, I end up with something worse than when I go for cartoony. But I digress, good tutorial.

How cool i suggest it the day you put it on DA, someone else got the credit for suggesting it -_-

Vyrilien In reply to Odow [2012-06-22 23:14:54 +0000 UTC]

It does say that several other deviants beside the two mentioned suggested this for a DD. Does it matter though who gets mentioned? The most important thing would seem that this fantastic tutorial got featured

So here is my question to you and everyone else 'What is the best Photoshop Programme that is out?'
