So yeah, as I was watching some videos of New Super Mario Bros 2, I remembered that the Koopalings were all named after celebrities, with Larry Koopa being named after Larry King. Thus, this clicked in my head.

(And no, I don't believe that guy on Mario Wiki who claims to be the person who named the Koopalings (without even attempting to prove his identity), who says that Larry was actually named after Larry Mullen Jr. and he just happened to never mention that in the last 25 years.)
