Description

In the Katie’s Posters series, Rogue will be paired with Psylocke. Little Miss Untouchable turned out so well, however, she deserved a solo.

This is mid-1990s Rogue; the Mississippi Mud Pie with the skunk stripe and the body that made spandex scream for mercy. In my opinion, the most beautiful and sexy incarnation, and the most heart-breaking. Don’t you just want to touch her?

Rogue will certainly escape Katie’s posters and go break some hearts and some faces. From what I understand, she has gained mastery over her power of touch now, so she may just have to have a tryst with Mary Jane. Poor Remy and Peter!

Technical Stuff

From the neck down, Rogue herself is a custom sculpted V6HD. Her face is Lyoness’ Sloan, chosen because that figure has a lovely sweetness that you’d just die to kiss.

Her hair is … what part are we talking about? The main hair is Streaming Hair for G3F by Smay, with new textures from OOT’s Iray Pair. The skunk stripe is Toulouse Hair, just applied to Rogue and allowed to stick up through Streaming. Her headband comes from Swam’s Lanny Hair, with the hair turned off. And this is known as hair-heavy. Southern Good Ol' Gal Big Hair, without the obligatory can of Final Net.

Rogue’s suit is Super Hero Suit for G2F by Smay. It’s mapped, making the application of the X logo easy. It came with a Rogue-esque materials option, but it wasn’t quite to my specs. For one thing, the stitches were too obvious and too far from the seams. I made a new diffuse map of simple colors, following the standard of Iray fabrics and letting the base color channel merely convey the color. Using the new diffuse map as a template, I made a glossy map of two different fabric texture bumps, one for the green and one for the yellow. From that, I made a normal map, which handles the actual fabric texture. Smay’s displacement map was moved to the bump channel. Cranking it to 10, it still makes the seams and wrinkles visible without dragging down the resources. Of course, it distorts over Rogue’s breasts, but that’s a trademark of good old G2F.

Smay’s Super Hero boots are dead ringers for Rogue’s, but they too needed work. A mesh offset at .25 helped them stand away from her legs and not look like extensions of the suit. Like the suit, the boots received a new diffuse map of simple colors, with a glossy and normal map set made from the same textile pattern as the yellow in the suit. The displacement map was moved to the bump slot and increased to 10. The green ankle belts are not part of Rogue’s original outfit. They’re a leftover from an earlier experiment with Dx30’s High Boots. I liked them so much they just had to stay.

Her gloves are from Luthbel’s Horror Survivors, given the same treatment as the suit and boots. The belt is from Luthbel’s Urban Survivors, with a custom buckle. It was parented to Rogue’s pelvis, but not fitted to allow that flop around at sexy angles way she wore it. Other than being sexy, did it actually do anything?

Rogue’s jacket is from Nirvana’s Music Band Outfit for G3F. It met two of my three criteria: short bolero style, and pulled back off the breasts. For the third, rolled up sleeves, good old Hexagon proved invaluable. Rolling up the sleeves shattered the UV map. Hence, that odd stretching in the suede texture. I'm not sure how to fix that. Yet.

I'm still not convinced about the texture of her suit, but that's my preference. Also I think I saw a belt that slanted on the hips somewhere. I just couldn't find it.

There are some. I looked through my various pirate outfits and all of Exnem's stuff and nothing turned up. So maybe I don't have it. But they're out there. Rogue's belt used to flop around. I had to wonder why she bothered. What did it keep held up? Maybe she had pouches in back and it substituted for a purse, which none of those X-Girls seemed to carry, but they all had nicely red lips.

Those hips don't lie, and I also like your last sentences lol.

Thanks. I stopped reading X-Men shortly after Dark Phoenix saga. School took up too much time and money. If I remember right, Rogue hadn't even tackled (literally) Miss Marvel yet. When I started reading the series again in 1992, there she was! Miss Sugah! I fell in love! Of course, being a fellow Deep Southerner helped. So, this was the version that I had to recreate.

After all those tests on the hair, I understand why so many opt for the Anna Paquin look. It's much easier!
