Today's remake is of the 2016 image:

I liked that original image, so this remake is not quite as dramatic as the earlier ones. It's more a study in how tech and vision has changed in four years. The original was made while the book was in the hands of my Beta Reader Extraordinaire, so Aura and Elisabeth were firmly established as characters. The original was made in Reality-Luxrender with the G2F versions of the girls. The remake is in Iray using the G8F versions. Aura's outfit hasn't changed much; it just has new textures. Elisabeth does have a new bodice, a new skirt, and new boots. In the past few years, I've learned how to angle the camera to imply the characters are off balance. Since this is probably early in Aura's career, I decided to show that she is not overly confident in the face of a 300 pound ogre, so even though I used the same pose, I tweaked it more passive and changed her expression. Elisabeth is the more aggressive of the two women, so I put her more in motion and gave her an expression that says she is about to start something. I opted for a totally different background because 1) I had it, and 2) it has the feeling the girls have been cornered.
