took a gap,
in the things we knew most,

to watch him make a trade,
our dad who drank to sleep,
our dad who took a sniff,
our dad who is half blind,
our dad who can't drive,
our dad who would never think,
our dad a drop out with near no knowledge,
our dad who we had to carry,
our dad in a birds cage,
five years time,
our dad,
that man,
will always be our dad,
through his blames,
through his falls,
we are his crutch,
so we can hold a ton,
because of our dad.
