Description well...wonder how i draw the internal designs of the XMG basker...
well...u take out a chunk of armor using the polygon lesso, cut and paste as new layer
then u lower the opticy and then draw your internal parts within the armor specification.
well..thats the tricky part..

as u can see from the screenshot, my shoulder internal mechanism is divided into 2 parts. the racking system frame and the main shoulder mechanism.
the racking system is done on a new layer like the main shoulder mechanism. so its like i can remove the racking system and u can see the main mechanism of the shoulder...

i am still disecting and stripping away armor from the mech till i attain about 75% expousure of internal parts...and if i really have the time, i may make a flash animation on removing the armor and stuff...

Very cool. You have strong understanding and concept toward such designs, look forward to more internal designs. They are hard for me.

this one looks like a real mech!
i mean all details n colors
everythin is shrewded
u surely could won some battles wid that 1!

personally i quiclky get pissed of from that coloring n stuff
thats why half of my drawings r crappy

i'd be homored if u take a look at my gallery (n write some comments)

i got em from some refrence in those Master Grade Gundam model kits, their instruction manuals have this awesome internal drawings of the gundams and stuff, so i look and have em taken into assilimation into my brain....

and no, i did not take out any of my manuals and copied the parts, all of them are from my brain and my mechanism logic.

Landel [2004-07-20 04:12:18 +0000 UTC]

Yo man. Since you've done internal parts and everything, you should do a full 3D model of it. Internal parts and everything. Then your model animation can split apart to show all the stuff inside, very cool!

I think DA ate my original comment. Anyway, I always liked the cutaway view, because it gives you a little insight on how something works and what it has. I was kinda hoping I would see a little more (IE movement systems, actuator, what have you) But this rendering is very heplful too. The size of the command couch gives a good look at the scale of the mech. I also think I found the powerplant, too.

well...the design itself is giving me some problems and mechanism logic...
there is a blank shady area on the right arm...i dun really know how to link the arm to my shoulder design and i dun really know if my internal design of the shadow is actually logical at all....
the 2 yellow tubes u see is actually part of a fusion engine which is link to the sub vernier thruster below it and another one behind it... the fusion engine is poition just above the arm movement system surrounded by hydraulic suspension.

right now, i dun really know where will the hydraulics to lower down the vernier caseing be, it look too cram in there..lol

there are actually about 4 power source for this mecha.
the one behind the cockpit is the energy cell for the charge particle cannon for its head
the one beside the cockpit which looks like a clyinder canister, another one on the other side provides the eletrical energy and the crouth part has aother energy pack for the legs and stuff.

this mech is more of a walking powerhouse, it can be devasating if any of the power cells of the mech blows up....
of course, this mech is a prototype heavy weapons unit, the mass production variation will do without the charge particle beam cannon, instead a powerful scope camera will be replaced. thus the removal of the beam energy cell resulting in a bigger cockpit space.

sorry if i go over detail... lol

XD Oh, no problem. The funny thing was, there was very little in there that I didn't understand.

Hydraulics are hard. Thay have to fit around the electronics and the internal skeleton, and they have to be strong enough to support a (Ye Many) Ton mech.

Joints can be hard too. I keep thinking of the same Hinge and Ball 'n' Socket joints, but there are different variations to them. I was wondering though, for the Shoulder joint, what were you originally considering? I would think it would be something like a hinge joint that can rotate around a circular point, because though not an actual ball and socket joint, it can emulate the same movement.
