After many, many hours Fluttershy the carrier is finally squared up and is the second in what is most likely going to become a series. The KanColle carrier girls normally launch their little planes with a bow and arrow, but Flutters uses segmented runways and catapults on her wings to send her little magic plane buddies skyward. I figure the planes are much like Tachikomas and operate on their own without a pilot. So magical.
I’m thinking Celestia would make a great battleship, myself and will probably take her on next. Most of the hours here were spent redrawing and learning though, so that’s always good. These ship pons give me everything I need to practice, man: composition, atmosphere, perspective, painting... it’s good stuff and a lot of fun to boot.
I just need to put a lot into each one, is all. I sure hope you like her and I got the YouTube timelapse(s) right here if you’d like to check it out. Have a good one!
EDIT: Fixes a couple shadows on the metal bits and the far land mass as well as the direction of the windsock. Thanks for the help guys!

Oh boy, where do I start with this one? In this image, there's just so much to take in, and I really love it all. I can tell you really pushed yourself making this image, since I see a lot of improvement compared to anything you've done before. While there is room for improvement, I honestly never expected this quality of art from you.
I'll start with Fluttershy. First of all, I can tell that you have a thorough and three-dimensional understanding of pony anatomy. The clothes seem to make perfect sense with the curves of her body (especially the fine lines in the socks and the wrinkles in the shirt). The shading of Fluttershy, most notably in the head and wings, seems to take into account the direction of lighting perfectly. In addition, you seem to understand your ponies well enough that you can take their designs beyond what we see in the show. For example, I see a kneecap in her one hind leg and some additional definition to her neck. Lastly, I really like how her colors aren't as saturated as usual. It felt a little odd at first, but it makes complete sense, given that she's very far from the observer.
There isn't much left to improve with the pony. If anything, lines seem to be used inconsistently. In other words, the pony is lineless in some places and not in others. While it's only a little nitpick that doesn't affect the appearance of the picture as a whole, it looks odd when I look closely. In particular, where the ear connects to the head, the top of the ear is lined while the bottom isn't. While I'm on the topic of lines, I do like how they are also affected by lighting, such as how the outline of the front of her head is lit while the back isn't.
Now onto the scenery. As I mentioned in the stream, the clouds are really impressive. They look as if they had been painted. However, as the clouds approach the horizon, I feel like they should become smaller and less distinct. While the clouds near the horizon are darker than the other clouds, it doesn't seem like they're any farther away from the viewer. How it is now, it feels like the clouds are a backdrop that extends below the horizon. It's tough to give artistic advice to people like you, but I'd just say to look at clouds more often, or even look at photography or paintings with clouds, and take note of how they appear. Also, you could try painting fewer clouds.
The non-cloud scenery is noteworthy too. Looking at the left mountain, I like the detail in the lighthouse, as well as the shading. It seems that this mountain is covered in bushes or tall grass, which looks picturesque, but to me, the mountain seems too jagged to be just grass. If it weren't for the colors, I'd say the shape of the mountain is more suggestive of rocky outcroppings. Also, the direction of the windsock on the lighthouse isn't consistent anymore with the direction of the windsock on the runway.
The right mountain seems kind of odd though. The blurriness of it adds to the depth of the scene (I can tell that mountain is far away), but it seems too blurry. In particular, you didn't appear to "color inside the lines" with the top outline of the mountains. This blurriness is also odd since the clouds behind the mountain are more well-defined.
When I saw the early sketches for this picture, I knew it would be something special. In the end, this picture has just blown me away. I can tell you really strove to improve in every aspect of this image. Overall, I can say that these little artistic experiments paid off by making an image that may be your best yet.

They are a lot of fun to draw but I'll try my best to tone it down on the next go, as well as their scaling. I really am glad you like it enough to give it full marks, but with all due respect I think that every star ought to be reserved for the works that are simply perfect in most every way.

Yo NC! I'm blown away again with another amazing piece in your Ponies with Naval Warfare crossover series! Fluttershy is my most favorite pony in the Mane 6 and I also love the Sailor Fuku uniform! What I like best about this piece is the amount of detail you put into it, especially the little aircrafts taking off into the skies, the lighthouse underneath Fluttershy's wings, the splash below Fluttershy's front right hoof, the rigid feel of the mountains and the shadings on the uniform, showing cloth unevenness.
Apart from detail, I also love how adorable you drew Fluttershy's facial expression here, thanks to her large pupils and round head! Furthermore, I'm also intrigued by the idea of placing aircraft runways on each wing tip of Fluttershy, very creative!
As for areas for improvement, I personally think that her wing tips are a little too furry and would look better if they appear more like your Celestia artwork from fav.me/da8ff15 . This is just a personal opinion, hence others might differ.
Nonetheless, on the whole, this piece is still truly amazing! Fluttershy appears to be a giant pony stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and engaged in a naval warfare while taking the role of an Aircraft Carrier. Seems like you also love large fighting naval vessels eh? ^^ I used to play Battlefield 1942 and the Aircraft Carrier was my most favorite naval vessel to sail!
Really looking forward to your next artwork in this series! Hopefully it will be a buttshot of a pony wearing the same uniform, as that would be awesome! :3
