If you haven't read the series "House of Night" I really suggest you do!It's kinda like a hybrid of twilight and harry potter (without all the unrealistic love and what not)
Basically, you get marked and you have to go to a vampyre finishing school called the House of night where you learn to be a vampyre. There's a catch though, If your body rejects the change from human to vampyre... you die, very quickly I might add.
It's told from the point of view of Zoey Redbird who is a newly marked fledgeling at the House of night. Very mysterious things happen to her that make her stand out among the others. So you'll have to read to find out.

Damien Maslin is one of Zoey's closest friends in the story. He's gay, and this is one of the first quotes from him in the book which I think makes him famous. He's kinda like the comic relief in the book; The smart, Advanced vocabulary using, Non-Feminine Gay friend.
