Description I present Big Ass Map the second

This one is set in 2109, showing the world on the eve before the signing of the Treaty of Sydney, which ends (for the most part) the series of wars that wracked the world since the invention of the ARE (Atherton-Richmond Engine, a type of fusion reactor) and the collapse of the world's economy which it caused.

The series of wars (termed the "Fusion Wars") have been fought more-or-less constantly over the course of the last 32 years, with fighting being mostly limited to Earth and CisLunar space, with occasional skirmishes being fought on Venus and Mars. Major events included the Energy Embargo (where the British League stopped all energy imports from the Mercury colonies, which only served to compound the troubles caused by the collapse of the economy), the breaking of the Confederated Nations Alliance in 2092 after only 51 years of existance, and many nations falling into civil wars, including China, Spain, and India.

Throughout the Fusion Wars, the Communist Commonwealth suffers the most, losing a great deal of territory on Earth itself (although it still keeps many of it's inner/outer system colonies on Venus and the asteroids, who later can in turn assert more power and independance over the other remaining members of the ComCom). The League of Allied Nations also suffers badly, with most nations falling into a deep recession caused by the collapse of the energy markets. The CNA collapses after the confederate format of the individual nation-states proves too fractious. The only world power to profit from the wars was the Progressive Union; having learned of the invention of the ARE technology before anyone in the other two alliances, they had forewarning to adjust their economies, and the wealth of technologies developed in the years running up to the war gave them an extremely keen edge when fighting other nations.

While the ComCom took the brunt of the territorial losses, the PU and the LoAN have not actively been working together - indeed, the competing interests in equatorial Africa and China/Pacific have been a cause of tensions between the two multinational powers over the last years of the Fusion Wars, but very little direct conflict between the two has taken place.

The signing of the Treaty of Sydney on October 15th, 2109, finalised the new borders and made provision for the establishment of numerous puppet governments in occupied territories. Even so, the Chinese, Spanish, and Indian Civil Wars continue for many years to come, and other wars are brewing on the extraterrestrial colonies...

Well, comments and questions always welcome - theres a hell of a lot that I haven't explained here, so do feel free to gimme a shout if there's something you want to know, and I'l try and explain as best I can Hope you all like this installment in the ComCom series, hopefully I can figure out what to make next...

Nice map, nice effects... it's hard to think of how so many factions came into existance though More explanation of the scenario would turn it from good to great.
