Description
Here's my latest puppet, Red Fraggle. I made her from scratch--created the patterns, dyed the fleece, hand-sewed everything. My fingers have the needle-stick scars to prove it!Related content

OMG, it's Red, her and Boober were my favorite characters growing up as a kid, do you do this for commission? I'd so be interested

Yes, I do. However, a lot of work goes into these puppets, and the materials are not cheap, and the cost reflects those facts. Message me if you want more information.

Her skin is Antron fleece, an industrial fabric used by puppet makers everywhere.

OH MY GOSH
(Sorry it's taken me so long to see this and properly comment on it. I am quite embarrassed )
BUT HOLY CRAP! She is beautiful! I think she's actually a bit "cuter" than "real" Red--her face is a bit smaller.
I'd love to convo you about how you've managed her pigtails. Back when I made my own Red, I winged those things and they're a bit jank
Again, excellent job! I remain in love with your work!

Thank you! I'm glad you like Red. She was a definite challenge to make. But, hey, Red lives to challenge people.
I wish I had smaller eyes for her. The next size down I only have in hemispheres or styrofoam, both of which are no-goes for Red. And ping-pong balls look awful! So she ended up with great big eyes. If I find spheres the right size I'll replace these in a Gorgtown minute.
There are a few things I'd like to tweak about her. Her lower jaw is maybe 1/4 of an inch longer than I want, and her pigtail stalks should be twice as long. I'll go back in and do some surgery when I am between projects. I may just make her a new skull and attach the existing eyes and lengthened pigtails to that.
Here's what I can tell you about her pigtails off the top of my head: I shredded about 50 ostrich feathers for 'em. The orange ones were that color when I bought them; I dyed the light orange ones myself. (You can see the two-tone more clearly in her tail than in her pompoms. I cut the barbs off the main stem, tied then into little bundles, "glued" them together with a dab of fray-chek, and hot-glued them onto walnut-sized cloth balls. It took about a week to chop up all those feathers, and a few hours to make the hair. And baloobius, of course.
What else would you like to know about her hair?

I've learned wonderful things about Red's hair, so no worries on more! Thank you for that!
Yeah, her hair was a pain for my own too. But it was worth it

I will if I can get over the slight logistical challenge of only having two arms.

Thanks! Fraggle Rock was a great series. Still is, come to think of it.
