Almost?! They *are* perfect!
I made them from scratch with the help of a cobbler. Unfortunately, it's *really* hard to make boots from scratch without a lot of tools that you'd only find in a cobbler's shop. I'm working on trying to make this process more accessible by figuring out *I* can do this without all that equipment.
On the off chance that you will be at Fanime, I will be doing a panel about it, but again, without an industrial sewing machine, and a sander/buffer, and lasts and a ton of other things... it's not easy.
I also molded the soles so they are his distinctive red with that crazy pattern on them. You can't see it as well in this shot, but you can in my shot of me and winry.

Augh.. I wish I was coming to fanime. I'd love to see this panel. Also I've gotten my husband to start watching FMA with me and we both really like it. About 8 episodes in, now.

It's not too late to decide to come! Yeah, I know it probably is, but oh well. If I get a good response, I might do it at other conventions. This is a *really* experimental panel, so we'll have to see how it goes....

And believe me, i know all the little things that are wrong with them, and they drive me *crazy*. I really hope I can come up with ways to make bookmaking more accessible so I can fix them.
