A friend shared to me this comic and is true. At my office I made a couple of artistic works, but the truth is that I'm a secretary who happens to do art in her spare time and my artistic work is seen as a "favor" I'm doing to the office. They will award me with a diploma and while I see they do indeed like my stuff I see they are trying their best to pay my work with anything but money. I will even get a positive qualification and exposure, but hey, that's still no money They use the excuse that they do other extra works for free too and while they have more responsabilities that's not an excuse or a justification.
Sadly since I'm in a lower position of power I can't refuse to this situation and there are no many job oportunities around either.

Oh, i think i misunderstood the comic and it's point. I thought about some sort of art piece for a fan project, like not big deal. Sure thing actual work should be paid. And now that i am thinking about this, would be odd if someone worked for free.Β

Working for exposure will more often than not benefit the "employer" far, far more than the artist.

A lot of people try to pay artist with "exposure" rather than money, which is really stupid, seeing as that doesn't pay the bills.
