Dedicated and in tribute to the original Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.I'm just sick and tired of the goddamn angst shit with extreme guns and crap that video games have been taking and it seems unfortunate, but it seems Jak II is the possible one that started this whole trend. Frankly, I confess Jak II as my fave of the Jak series, but the original Jak and Daxter has more heart and charm then any of the other sequels. It's even ironic fans tend to skip out on the first one as well. After all, without the original Jak, there wouldn't even BE a Jak 2 and 3 and X, so you guys should be grateful for this underappreciated little gem. I love Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.
I can point out the numerous mistakes and live with it, but I swear, if I missed out on any characters, I'm gonna scream.

I miss the 1st game soooo badly! And you can tell when you look at the plot they totally just made up those sequels from wherever! I mean REALLY!? A sequel that basically undoes everything you just did, by pretty much destroying the world YOU JUST SAVED!! And they didn't even bring Gol and Maia back! They totally could have had a thing, where you discover the remains of the eco silo/Daxter accidentally unseals it or maybe the metal heads do, and after that long being sealed in with all that dark Eco, they would have been terrifying! Terrifyingly COOL.
I mean they didn't even keep Daxters name, like what is he not important enough now!? He's most if what made the games good, I mean picture the games without him (if you can)Β no witty back talk, no ridiculous Daxter-nessΒ to offset Jak? They would have been just another generic platformer.Β
Sorry thisΒ got so long, I didn't realize how much this still upsets me but I still mourne the loss of a TRUE sequel to the original game and what I imagine it could have been like...Β

I absolutely LOVE this picture. I have to say that the first and original Jak and Daxter is dearest to me because I played it during my childhood. It wasΒ my childhood. I do agree that the guns took it out of its originality a bit. Great job with the picture!

I personally like this one the best, had an awesome world and a great cast and music. plus the awesome gameplay! I would really love if they had a new jak game take place in between 1 and 2 just to give us an excuse to use this formula again

Haha, I agree that the first one had the most heart to it. I must have played the first game over a hundred times. It was soo good! I can remember my controller crapping out on me while I was trying to catch fish! AH nostalgia! I have to say though, the second one was my favorite. I couldn't get enough of the NYFE races.

If you count the oracle as a character, you missed him. But otherwise nice work, and I agree that it is a shame people overlook the first one.

I too find it kinda sad that people tend to skip out on it- OK, it's their right, but this game was lovely. I think at least for me, it added an extra level of impact to Jak II, to see the cute young boy become an angry young man who lost that beautiful, magical world of the first game.

I was horrified when they gave jak a gun, I'm not horrified now though, I guess I grew up a bit
the precursor legacy still has a special place in my heart, it was one of the first games that got my attention (I used to DESPISE videogames OH THE HORROR!)

when I was little, I wasn't very good at the game (never left sandover village) I used to find little places in the world and call them "dens" and even now when I go back to those places (to look for orbs and power cells, I slaved for the secret ending, not worth it XD) I still remember what I called them (tower rock, sunset spot, diving board into shark infested water... etc) and all the stuff I did there (pretended that giant lurkers were coming and we had to hide until they went away), now my little sister has taken over all that, and found some interesting hidey-holes that I didn't find
