Yup Alucard was adopted. dumped on a door step and left.The mother, Seras, is a Basilisk, or more commonly known as the Jesus lizard :[link]
also Alucard is not aware that he is adopted and Seras would much appreciate it if you didn't tell him otherwise, he believes she is a fat tailed gecko just like him and that one day he'll grow up and look just like her.
