beautiful photo, she looks ethereal, I was thinking more snow whiteish a magical sleep than a wake though. I would love to see one just like this but with her mesmorizing eyes open.

I love your concept here - it reminds me of a piece I did along similar lines... but I like how yours is more soft... and sweet... and less hard.

it's defined as "A watch over the body of a deceased person before burial, sometimes accompanied by festivity."

It's basically a ceremony for the deceased in certain religions (primarily Catholic, if I remember correctly) where the dead body is honored and watched throughout the night.
And hell yes, it's as creepy as it sounds.

it doesn't really make sense that this is so grainy on full-view. NONE of the others are like that....hmmmmm.
But it is lovely.

I can't figure out any ways to get rid of the grain, but it's pretty minor. I wouldn't worry about it. Great job here ellen.
By the way, do you mind if I make/submit a photomanipulation using this? Or do you not want me to?(I understand if not)

I like it. A lot. But the larger version is so low quality.
It looks like you put a lot of thought into setting up how everything is layed out. Good work on that.
It's just really unfortunate that it's no HQ. :/

i've been having a lot of trouble with grainy pictures. got any advice on how i can prevent that? or is it the camera's fault?

I have no idea. I don't do any photography. I would really have no idea what to do.
*The following advice is purely a guess, I have no idea at all.*
Maybe adding some more lighting to the picture. I really don't know but it probably is the camera. Maybe try taking the same picture with another camera (the next time you take some) and just see.
