Description
I decided to take a character concept I made almost 2 years ago and actually make some characters out them. Ira Bennet and her omnic girlfriend were in desperate need to for an update. In the process of drawing Shawna again, just taking a little longer since omnics are super hard to do. This is actually just the start of a whole thing I'm doing where I redo all my overwatch characters, in great detail, and really expand on what they can do and what they'll look like. :3

Starting with Ira, now she's no longer British. Instead I decided to have her from Boston, complete with a thick accent and a big city tough exterior. Much of her backstory aside from that hasn't changed though. Her biological mother divorced her father when she was very young and most of her life was spent being raised by her father. Later in his life though, Hubert Bennet did remarry Ira's step mom.

I'm still working on how to design Ira in the overwatch battle sense. I was thinking of her being a melee fighter with a tech enhanced bat. We'll see.

More backstory: Ira grew up in the tension between humans and omnics, but even at a young age she had the passion for fighting against oppression and befriending omnics. Violently so. When talking down bullies didn't work, Ira was quick to resort to more drastic pushback against aggressors towards omnic civilians. The more violent things got for the omnics, the more violent Ira was willing to get. Her father didn't discourage this, he actively supported Ira as he too saw the injustice towards omnics as inhumane and unfair.

When Ira was just a teenager, she was fleeing a crowd attempting to harass a very young omnic who had just come into the city. The omnic was so young and new to the world she didn't even have a name. Ira led her through the subway system she had become familiar with as her father was a track worker. Ira quickly befriended the omnic, who started going by the name Shawna. From there the two spent an enormous amount of time together, blossoming a very strong friendship and eventually started dating.
