Description This was inspired by the Celtic Frost song that is, well, a poem. Actually, the poem below.
-----
Sorrows of the Moon (Tristesses de la Lune) (with apologies to I'm terribly sorry.)

More drowsy dreams the moon tonight. She rests
Like a proud beauty on heaped cushions pressing,
With light and absent-minded touch caressing,
Before she sleeps, the contour of her breasts.

On satin-shimmering, downy avalanches
She dies from swoon to swoon in languid change,
And lets her eyes on snowy visions range
That in the azure rise like flowering branches.

When sometimes to this earth her languor calm
Lets streak a stealthy tear, a pious poet,
The enemy of sleep, in his cupped palm,

Takes this pale tear, of liquid opal spun
With rainbow lights, deep in his heart to stow it
Far from the staring eyeballs of the Sun.

I can actually see that a little bit.
Something about how her hands are over her face like that perhaps?

Hey, pretty. But there is no "S" at the end of "Tristesse", just to let you know.

neserit In reply to Karnival [2005-07-13 15:34:35 +0000 UTC]

Actually, there is. I didn't base this on the poem by itself. I based it more on the Celtic Frost song. Celtic Frost spelled it this way: [link]

There isn't, if you translate it "sorrow". Tristesses would be plural and would be translated by "sorrows" and it's employed in slighty different contexts.
So far, French is still my native language, I just wanted to let you know; the error is on "sorrow" or "tristesses", but none matches the other if you don't correct it.
Also, I wouldn't trust bands and such for spelling in other languages, seeing how the original movie sountracks from French movies generally are misspelled once released in foreign countries.

Look,. I'm not trying to argue with you. That is the name of the song "Sorrows of the Moon". It is supposed to be that way.

The song was NOT a translation from anything from a French movie. It was based of the poem from Charles Baudelaire.

"Tristesses de la lune" (Sorrows of the Moon)

Ce soir, la lune rΓͺve avec plus de paresse;

I'm not saying this is translated from a movie.
And I'm still saying, spell it "sorrows" then if it's "tristesses" the original title. Look at your deviantion comment, you wrote "sorrow" there.
I'm not trying to argue with you, I just wanted to let you know the translation doesn't match the word, whether it is an actual misspell or that you forgot a letter.

I didn't want you feel offensed, I was trying to help.

Ahh...I see what you're saying. I have to change what I wrote in the description. That was a mistake I made...I thought I wrote "sorrows"

Shit, I'm really sorry about that. Been a rough day an d I'm fresh out of cigarettes. Grrr!

No no, it's probably my fault, I tend to come out of the blue and blunt like that sometimes, and it may surprise and make people feel offensed, whereas it's not my intention. Sorry again for the misunderstanding, and I wish you the best of luck. Take care.
