I'm a beginner. This is the first bit of calligraphy I have completed after practicing with a dip pen. I've been writing with fountain pens for over 16 years and have just now started to become fascinated with calligraphy as an art form. That is what this sentence is expressing, that words contain more than just information.I used old German Fraktur for the word 'Calligraphy', the rest is Secretary Hand. Please post constructive criticism, I'd greatly appreciate it!

It seems that your first attempt was probably much smoother than mine...
I feel this statement really captures the essence and purpose of calligraphy. Unlike computers, humans can have feelings and emotions flowing through them as their letters are formed. In a way, those expressions are infused into the letters themselves and give them a life outside of the mere words that they form. By actively working to make words beautiful, their power to affect the viewer is awakened.

That's only a small inter-word. Between words is a space equal in extension letter "O".

Ich finde das sieht sehr gut aus. Wie lange übst du schon?
Die Secretary Hand sieht schön aus, und ich denke die art wie du x und p zu einer ligatur verschmilzt ist eindeutig ein zeichen von qualität. Du musst allerdings noch etwas mehr auf die buchstaben-abstände achten. So ist das kleine a in den wörtern than und say etwas zu nahe beim vorhergehenden buchstaben, und auch andere abstände sind noch leicht ungleichmäßig. Aber insgesamt ist es, wie gesagt, sehr schön ^^

Vielen Dank! Ich übe erst seit ein paar Tagen mit Feder und Tinte aber es läuft schon recht gut. Ich war bei der Secretary Hand generell mit dem kleinen a überfordert. Als Anfänger war es zu komplex für die kleine Federbreite (1mm) und ich werd daran weiterüben. Nochmals danke für dein Feedback!
