Description
As the title says this is Riven and Rue as they age starting from six year until present.

Six Years:
Rue came to the orphanage about a year after Riven, and they did not get along very well at first. Riven had already established himself as kind of a bully and the other kids his age did what he wanted. Rue arrived and began doing whatever she wanted and no matter what Riven did, Rue match him punch for punch. They fought at lot at first, until a certain accident happened that caused them to bond and they became inseparable friends. Rue refuses to wear dresses or anything else she deems girly and refuses to brush her hair. Purple shoes are fine, but only just so. She may also have a slight obsession with aliens at this age...

Eleven Years:
They grew out of being the school-yard bullies but Rue is always ready to scrap. Riven has calmed down considerably but still has his temper and will back Rue up no matter the situation. (That's right Riven is the responsible one.) Rue chops her hair off and wears clothing that's to big for her, not matter how much the care takers at the orphanage insists otherwise. Riven simply can't be bothered to even worry about his hair, or really care what he's wearing. Riven first learns about Red Fountain about this time and begins studying so he can earn a scholarship. Rue has began showing signs of magic, but nothing concrete has manifested yet, so she's unaware of what type of powers she will have.

Fourteen Years:
Riven had gotten closer to earning his Red Fountain Scholarship and has started building muscles. Something a lot of girls his age have started noticing. He also begins gelling his hair up because he thinks it looks cool. Rue experiments with her hair, doing different lengths and colors, but it always remains short. She has also discovered her talent for machines by messing around the junk yard, and knows she is to be a fairy. She had not earned her wings yet though. The two spend a lot of their free time trying to rebuild a Wind Rider from junk parts. Unfortunately they never finish it. Despite both their ambitions to attend Red Fountain and Alfea receptively, they wear a lot of black, break curfew often, and hang out places they shouldn't be doing things they shouldn't be doing. They believe themselves rebels to cool to follow rules.

Seventeen Years:
Their current age (and the time where my story starts) Riven made it into Red Fountain while Rue did...other things. Riven still gels his hair. Rue went back to her natural color, but shaved part of it and added a blue streak. Riven is more responsible now and follows the rules a lot more, but is still a hot head. Rue does what she wants and deals with the consequences later. Can't reveal to much about them at this age, but I can say that nothing has managed to dissolve their friendship. Not that there hasn't been an effort to...

So yeah, here is a little information about Rue and Riven growing up together. This took way to long to do, and I can't say i'm 100% happy with their designs but it's a start.

I always head cannoned that Riven earned a scholarship to Red Fountain which is why he always fought so hard to prove he was just as smart/strong as Sky if not more so. I also don't think his hair naturally spikes up like that. I'm pretty sure hair gel, and lots of it, is involved. Riven definitely had an edgy on purpose phase, and no one can convince me otherwise.

Rue has always been a tomb boy and will always refuse to wear a skirt. She also can't figure out how anyone can stand to have long hair.
