The Potter boy caught the snitch so fast that it seemed like Snape had barely kicked off the ground. In reality, there had been about 5 minutes of gameplay, but it would probably go down as one of the shortest games in Hogwarts Quidditch history.

Snape felt disappointment sink into his stomach as he descended through the air. He had a slight nagging feeling that trying to stop the jinx on Potter's broom wasn't enough to pay back his life-debt to James, and he had been hoping to do more to cancel that out. I suppose that I shall have to be content with this.

He spat on the ground as he dismounted.

Looking up, he saw the Headmaster rising from his seat, and the old man nodded his head once at Snape, then turned his attention to Professor McGonagall, who was undoubtedly extolling the virtues of her teams newest member.

Catching the sight of a purple turban, and the disappointed face under it, Snape immediately stormed off the pitch.

There was something going on, of that much he was certain. The question was, what was it?
