I had a frustrating day yesterday and needed to make something, so, this is it. It's one of those things where the idea in my head looked a lot better than the finished product, but i'm posting it anyways.Any critiques would be greatly appreciated. Let me know how I can improve.

Now this is a challenging piece; it does not invoke a sense of restful pleasure, this is one of those artworks that slaps you in the face and makes you address the less pleasant aspects of Life! There is a deliberate griminess to it--it evokes grungy alleys, litter, pigeon poop and Lies: WAKE UP! the vision shouts, in slobbery, phlegm-garbled tones...It is a Prophet's warning, a Jonah dressed in befouled newspaper and festooned with bottle-caps. We must heed this warning, or look forward inevitably to a world very much like the one evoked herein! Well done, Sarah--you've made us think!

It needs a vibrant red/orange somewhere to it...to contrast and bring things forward.

There seems to be an observational feel here, there's that urban flavour too which really adds to the piece. Nothing too critical to say, it would be interesting to see this as a square though. Great job!

Thanks! I will have to try it as a square. I took the bottle caps off of it and might put them on a different piece and try it again.

Something new! I like it. The only think I would say is watch how much dark colors you use when using news prints. The ink tends to come off of the paper on it's own. I'm new to mixed media myself. What I find that helps me, personally. Is creating in layers. Figure out your base layer..paint, paper, newsprint, then go from there. I think to myself, 'what parts do I want to stand out from my back layer and what do I want for my forefront'. This is how I have found working with mixed media that has helped me. But I too am new to it
