Upon my purchase of my own IPad Pro last week and watching tutorial videos of digital painting on YouTube, I stumbled upon the realization that I have been doing it wrong. It turns out that I wasn’t using enough layers to color my pieces as I used to do it all on one layer underneath the outline. I needed a layer for flats, blending, shading and contrast, lighting and touch-up. I also learned about using layer tools as well like duplicate, multiply, overlay and so forth. And by doing this piece here with all the tools and knowledge at my disposal, I’m quite pleased with the results. And I think you will be too, with this improved version of Mandy Sawyer.
