is fimo normally hard? cause i bought some and it was really hard to work with, like solid... i barely made eyes and claws out of it before my fingers gave up..

it should not be that hard, that you can't work with it. it's a little hard, but when you knead it a little bit it's getting more smooth, so that it's easy to work with it.

I always give clay a gentle squeeze. If it feels hard then grab a different one.

Very nice tutorial! I've always thought of doing eyes with polymer clay, but it never crossed my mind to make the loops out of wire. Congrats on the daily deviation! ^^

Yes! I have little luck with fabric transfer paper on felt! It does look more like store bought plushies with plastic eyes. ^^
