Description
So here is the final part of the lighting on my layout's scene. Fortunately this time there was not a lot that needed to be done in regards to lighting as this is only part of a small urban street. You can just about make out part of the living rooms in the two houses that are lit up which do feature some cameo scenery inside. As I said the space inside these houses was rather limited so there is not a lot in regards to high detail.Related content

What's happening in the house at the other end? (Right) Also is this taken place in the morning or night? just wondered with the milk float out and about

You could say it is in the morning by the looks of the milk float going by. I took the shot in the dark a few weeks ago when the mornings were still dark. The end house is similar to the one closest to the shot. I couldn't get much into the houses so I just added two figures sitting in their chairs by the fire side, having a deep conversation. I'll have to take a better shot of the houses interiors.

Guess we still got some dark mornings.....though can't say I take notice since not up early. Works either way, and I look forward to seeing the interior shots. I plan to do some with signal boxes (Since most model railways always have a signal box interiors for the levers and such.Β
Saying that, where do you get the floor and walls from? for carpets, flooring, wallpapers etc

I got them apart of the new scalescenes interior detail kit. It includes lineside junk, furniture carpet/floor textures and the like. I doesn't include doors or windows, these are sold separately but are worth it. Especially if one when it comes to scratchbuilding or detailing

Think I've seen scalescenes kits before, would be useful for some buildings, want to do some interiors for a large signal box. As for windows and doors, there's many from the Metcalfe kits (Only houses though)Β

If I'm honest I'm not much of a huge fan of metcalfe myself although some of the newer kits are a big step up from what they use to be like. I think Ratio or wills kits make interiors for signal boxes. Although these are more of the tradition mechanical signal boxes only. But for modern ones I shouldn't think it's all that hard to make interiors for.

They're not always perfect, but they work. Also give something to do and build, in the middle of building the Metcalfe double engine shed (If seen it) Using 2 kits to make a large one.
As for signal boxes, I've seen the Ratio and Wills kits, look pretty good. Think I got my eye on some of those, mostly for the accessories and such to add. I just need things like the floors and walls

That would look interesting. For me though if I'd probably go in for the more modern diesel depot, but that's because I prefer diesels. Of course, like I said, you can't go wrong with the scalescenes interior detail pack which includes floors and walls. The only other thing would be to make your own, although I don't know how to go about that myself. I tried to do something like that once but I couldn't get the scaling right.

Yeah, can be kinda difficult to make two into one, but getting there. And I wouldn't know how to make my own, can only imagine it would be difficult. But I'll give scalescenes a try

It's worth it for sure as there aren't as many places like it around and I think you'll find something that might be of interest to you, especially when there are more and more new kits coming and getting better. Also I don't know if this would be of any help to you but I came across a forum page on rmweb giving details on building interiors and how others went about with them, including signal boxes and the like, which is where I got some ideas for doing up the interiors of my buildings. Here's the link to the page: www.rmweb.co.uk/community/indeβ¦

I'll look out for any newer kits coming out, and thanks for the link. I'll give it a lookΒ
