'When the city became overpopulated, social classes became further divided. The absence of space above ground gave rise to the cost of living, the middle class became poor and the poor, homeless. Tunnels, sewers and metro systems became retro fitted to house those who could no longer afford to live in the city. Many lives reduced to an isolated pod recessed within a harsh infrastructural wall'

The design was inspired by recent readings into existing underground networks and the hypothetical scenario of the role these spaces will play in an overpopulated future. I also took great inspiration of Japanese capsule hotels.
