This is wonderful. I have never seen the Van Dyke process used so well. I really like the grit this peice has. The middle photoset is my favorite, wonderful stuff.

It looks like the left and right side are printed on the same material whereas the middle was neatly cut out and placed over something that we can't see. There's a certain muddy quality to the print, smudges and overall grit left and right; you've heard my speech on how photographs feel so you know I like this, but aside from that it also somehow blends in with the grain and texture that was already there on the negatives and heightens the effect. This reminds me of a polaroid transfer but with the emulsion stirred with a little sponge or something first. Or maybe this looks a little like a set of old photographs that aged for years, got wet at some point, dried, and then were all peeled back as one from some dusty album. I love how the photographs exhibit fade and wear , qualities that the 'original' photographs that you uploaded on DA didn't have, it makes them look so different. Now she really looks like a ghost!

I love the concept. Extremely nice idea. It has a very unreal atmosphere, very dreamy and kind of dark. I love the way you put them together. Although you could've blended the pictures together by fading the edges. Otherwise it's lovely and warms my personal heart.

I agree with Emil - the order as placed makes perfect sense. I'm usually not a fan of brown tinted prints, but I actually like the added touch here. The fact that they are on handmade paper is even cooler; that's one of the things I'd like to learn how to do if I have some free time in college (or if my college offers it, which BU might not). Simply put, excellent choice of photos and order.

Interesting combination.
It makes me think - first there was nothing, then there were trees and then man-made structures came along.
