Rogue males banded together to take over the pride that this male ruled over. When that happened, he fought, and the males tried to kill all the cubs like wild lions, so the lionesses would mate with them. This lion's mate refused and got killed in the struggle. He was coming to save her when his youngest daughter cried out for help. Accepting he had lost his pride, he grabbed the most valuable thing and left, his daughter. Her paw was too mangled to save, so a baboon helped tie it off, so the circulation would no longer flow. Soon after, the mauled paw fell off, and her stump was able to be bandaged properly.
Also, I have one question. When it says + one drawing, does that mean I get to decide what the drawing is of or you do?

I just read the short story under your shaded version of this. I guarantee, I did not read it before writing my comment. The reasoning for the paw loss and the loss of his mate was actually pretty close to your story. Who would have thought?

One is the daughter all grown up standing strong. Another is the father rescuing her from the rogues. He picks her up similar to Mufasa when Simba was in danger in the stampede.
