Peep & Chirp: Together in Love
(a short but sweet story)

Chapter 1: Beginning of a Romance

A young boy roams the meadows as curious
as he can be. He looks rather cheerful, excited,
and carefree. He has red hair and is clad in yellow.
He also happens to be wearing black pants and shoes,
but they blend in so well you'd swore he was wearing tights.
His name is Peep. He was quite curious and lively for someone
his age.
And yes, while the idea of somebody naming a kid like
him "Peep" sounds weird, it just so happens that he's similar
to that of a baby chicken only...well...a young boy.
He busily marveled at the daisies and other flowers growing
out of the ground, played with the many sticks he came across in
the process, and even threw a pebble or two in the pond.
As he was having the usual fun you'd expect from a very
adventurous and oh-so curious kid, a girl who was also red-haired
(but a pinkish color) in a scarlet coat approached him.
"Hey! Peep how's it going?" She asked.
"Oh! Hi Chirp!" greeted Peep, "Didn't see you there!"
"Yeah. I could tell!" responded Chirp, in a stoic-sounding tone.
Now Chirp happened to be 8 years old, while Peep was only 6
making her atleast two years older than him. She was also a bit more
smarter than Peep, not to say Peep was very clueless. He wasn't.
He was just curious that's all!
The two were great friends, occasionally doing things together.
Like playing, studying at school, walking each other home, and going
on adventures.
But today was different, for you see, a lot things were going to be looking
up to that friendship of theirs. It was gonna blossom soon into something...
romantic!
"So I see you're throwing pebbles into that pond. That looks
fun for you!"
"Yes! Of course! I enjoy it very much!"
"Okay then, Peep! I guess I'll just see you around..."
Chirp then turned to leave Peep, but before she could walk away
Peep placed a hand on her back.
"Wait!" He blurted out to her. "D-don't g-go! I-I-I have something
to tell you!"
"Huh?" Chirp looked puzzled. "What is it, Peep?"
Peep looked embarrassed. His cheeks blushed a little, looking
light pink in the process.
"W-well. If you really must know. I-I-I have this little feeling
for you, I'm not sure what it is. But I get it occasionally around
you. I-I-It doesn't ha-happen all the t-time but on o-occasion that is."
"So you're saying you have a small crush on me?" answered Chirp,
nonchalantly.
"Y-yes-HEY! How'd you know?" exclaimed Peep.
"I figured as much. Also, I wasn't quite expecting this.
I mean it's not everyday our friendship suddenly becomes
young love that is."
"So, you're not upset at me for having a crush on you?"
"Nah! I'm cool with it dude. I think it'll work out just fine."
She comforted Peep. "Just you and me, together, alone,
and alright the way we are!"
Peep giggled. "Okay! Thanks!"
"Your welcome, Peep!" Chirp said, and the two both
gave each other a good luck kiss and left.
"Wow!" Peep thought to himself.
"That was awesome!"

Chapter 2: The Future is near

Two years later, Peep was now 8 years old
while Chirp on the other hand was 10.
Because he wanted to express his feelings for Chirp,
Peep decided to give Chirp a card, like a valentine's day
card but one of love!
He approached Chirp's house, it was nothing special.
Just something that resembled a cottage, which was ironically
enough red just like her hair and clothes. It was mahogany.
Peep knocked on the door, to which Chirp opened it in response.
"Yes?" asked Chirp. "What'cha want Peep?"
Peep handed Chirp his card he wrote for her, "I want you
to read this!" he said eagerly.
Chirp looked at the envelope the card was in, and then
read it.
"For Chirp, from me."
She opened the envelope and then got into the actual
card.
"Dear Chirp..." She began, "I'm happy that you're not
upset at me for having a crush on you from when we were
a bit younger. It just so happens that I didn't know what the
word for someone loving somebody was until you told me,
and that's what I felt. Also, I hope we can continue with the blossoming
romance and feelings I have for you. Love Peep!"
"Well?"
"Wow, Peep. You didn't know the word "crush"? I am
astonished! Also, that was sweet. Yes we may continue with
your feelings for me!"
Chirp smiled at Peep.
"Hooray!" cheered Peep.
"WAIT A MINUTE!!! HOLD IT!!!" interrupted a shrill-boyish sounding
voice.
A blue-haired boy with a sailor's hat, looking to be around 14,
and dressed in navy-blue clothing approached the two kids.
His name was Quack by the way, he was another one of Peep's
friends, but he was kind of troublesome.
"You two are in love?!?! Like seriously!" He asked.
"Yes?"
"Yes, Quack. Peep and I love each other. Got a problem
with that?"
"WHY COULDN'T YOU TWO STAY FRIENDS!!!!
DO YOU REALLY MEAN IT!?!?"
"Woah, woah, woah, take it easy there, Quack!" stated
Chirp. "There's nothing wrong with this. It's just normal!
That's all."
"Yeah. Exactly!" agreed Peep.
"Okay, if you say so." said Quack, and off he ran
leaving the two young children alone in peace.
"Well atleast he knows." remarked Chirp.
"Yeah!" said Peep, standing beside Chirp
and giving her a hug too.
"But I wonder what else will happen for the
next 20 years of our relationship!"
"Maybe things we look bright for us."
"I guess so, now that I think about it, Peep!"

20 years later...

Peep and Chirp are now grown-ups and
about to get married.
Peep is wearing a yellow tuxedo, with
his hair styled up and looking neat along with
the usual matching black pants and shoes.
Chirp is wearing a scarlet dress but not one that's
a wedding dress (but even then nobody seems to mind).
The two look each other in the eyes, come closer,
and then they kiss.
"Mmmmmm-mwah!"
Everyone in the crowd cheers for the two finally becoming
husband and wife.
"Yeah! WOOOOOO-HOOOO!!!"
4 days after the marriage, Peep and Chirp lived together
merrily in their new, cozy, little home.
"Wow, I guess things really did look bright for us
in this day and age!" said Peep.
"Yes, Peep!" replied Chirp. "And best of all,
you actually were right!"
"I knew you'd someday love me!"
"Of course I would!"
And the two adults dressed in yellow and red
lived happily ever after.
