The cameras I have aren't Canon, but...

Nikon D60, Nikon D90, Fujifilm Finepix XP10.

If those are DSLR cameras, I'll be glad.

I am sure the first two are, yes. ;D
So, on the kit you have this one function 'AF' and 'MF'.
'AF' is Autofocus, as soon as you press to make a photo the focus is alright.
'MF' is manuel focus and with it you can focus by yourself.
The easiest way to get bokeh is to align the camera to a light source, but not the sun, maybe the sun through branches, but not directlyinto the sun, and then turn the lens at the total front till you can see a totally blurred image through the viewfinder. Then you press the camera shutter and you should have your bokeh!

It depends if you have the original picture, i hope its a lanscape shot, not a portrait shot. If its a Landscape shot make sure the picture is in these common desktop resolutions: 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. If its not, you can sorta make it work in PS try making you canvas bigger by going to image>canvas size or alt+ctrl+c and change the width dimensions to 800, 1024, 1280, 1600 pixels, then using the clone tool you can try and make it work, some people are pretty good at it, I'm terrible at cloning sections. You can also copy and Paste etc.

That seems pretty interesting!
But onfortunately I dont own PS yet. :/
But I think I got what you want me to do.
Something like that maybe: [link]
?

mesclas In reply to NikolasBrummer [2010-09-14 07:55:34 +0000 UTC]

Thats cool, you can do it with GIMP, its free and its almost as good as PS. I like bokeh better tho ^^. You don't have to do it, its just a suggestion .

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NikolasBrummer In reply to mesclas [2010-09-14 07:59:53 +0000 UTC]

Well, I will try what you mean!
Since I want to learn as much as I can with GIMP.
Thanks A lot!
But i just think the Deviation isnt that good for doing it, the bokeh is placed on one point. :/

what's that? cars? lights on the street? ufos? xD
I like it!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NikolasBrummer In reply to MaKuArenal [2010-08-08 19:07:17 +0000 UTC]

Haha, No.
You can swtich the sharpness on the camera, like you can make that a thing which is really close to your camera is sharp and the backround is unsharp & stuff.
I took it, but on this picture is no thing in the foreground, got it? ;3
Oh, and it is the sunlight braking through branches!

I have to "experiment" more with my camera xD
Thanks for the explanation ^_^

What camera do you have?
You just can do it with a DSLR Camera. c;

MaKuArenal In reply to NikolasBrummer [2010-08-11 21:15:52 +0000 UTC]

Nikon D60.
I've read some parts of the book but...I forgot them!
And I took some classes (really useful) and they give us some notes...I have to read them too (again, and again) and practise not to forget them.
My memory is really bad

NikolasBrummer In reply to MaKuArenal [2010-08-11 21:21:59 +0000 UTC]

Well .. Than I'll say you how to do this bokeh effect.
So ... On your lens you see this switch it says 'AF' & 'MF', its AutoFocus & ManuelFocus.
Do 'Manuel Focus' and move the lense thingy which is the first thing on a camera.
let me mark it on an image of a camera.
[link] The marked thing. C;
look to the viewfinder of the camera and send it to a tree or branches where light is going threw.
Then rotate the thing I showed you as long as the image is as blurred as it can be.
And then make a shot.
