Description
you know times are getting better when you can take pictures at sundown again .. how I missed that.and I couldn't decide which picture I like better because this is such an accurate portrait of me but the other one is inspired by chopin and they are so similar but they give me "this feeling" ... decision are such a tough thing to make.

This is great. I love how you captured the sunlight and the model's expression. I love the vulnerable look of him. Everything in the background is a little blurred and the foreground is clear. it makes the man seem almost ethereal, like a visitor to our world. I think his hair is a little distracting, though...it's like something out of the 80s techno scene. It seems out of place. But I love the pose; he looks like a dancer at rest. And the light bouncing off him adds a magical quality.
I've never critiqued before; hope I did it right! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="

ah, I find this to be so lovely! don't worry about doing it right or wrong, you said what you think and that is most important. it's just a little funny because this was a very random photo without much thinking, practically to capture a moment, and I hadn't expected to receive a critique on it aha. as for the white hair, it doesn't fit at all, you are right, but it is my hair right now and I like it like that.
nevertheless, I appreciate your words. thank you!

Dear Nikko
I haven't been able to check out your page here,or DA in general, because my computer gets stuck when I open it,and I had no time.
I had the pleasure of watching your photography page on facebook, but most of your work is uploaded here.
Now that I have the time to see what I've missed here,I think I have to say that you have grown up and developed a lot,and I like it.It's good to grow up,it's good to grow artistically, and you've done both.
On this picture, you are a painting that comes in life.
The lighting,your pose,your clothes,your expression,everything's perfect.
I trully admire you more and more as you develop. Please, don't you ever lose yourself.
Ion

i love your earth-colored jumper. The lighting is sooo nice and it highlights your silhouette, even though you absolutely have no eye-catching colors on yourself.

You're right, they do both have that 'feeling' & I like both but I 'see' you more in your Chopin inspired portrait. Just lovely β₯

It's nice to see you outside, communing with nature again, and looking peaceful and unstressed. When trying to decide which I like better, this or nocturne op. 9, I decided to choose both. I can't reject either because they are both excellent, naturally.
Please take many more portraits of yourself, just as you write frequently of your life. All that would be missing is a musical biography, like on youtube.

I am always pleasantly surprised by your photo's, I really adore the melancholy in this particular piece. The fact that because of the simplicity of the composition it can be perceived in so many ways is very interesting and the technicality of the picture in itself is beautiful. I wish I knew more about photography so I could offer advice and maybe some useful comments, but for now I will just look from the sidelines and let my jaw drop like an idiot.
Beautiful piece. <3
