Description
The spring term at the riding school was over. Ahead was some lazy summer weeks and four riding camps for the TIRS horses. Or perhaps five. Andrea had taken a week off, removed almost all thoughts that related to work and thrown the responsibility for the TIRS horses at her partner and those she liked to call "The Usual Suspects". The students (and some student parents) that always seemed to be at the stable polishing a bridle, cleaning out a stall or "just passing by" which is quite a feat as the riding school was still located on an island only accesible by boat and you had to call beforehand so someone could come and pick you up to drive you across the narrow strait. By the next term things would be very different though.

The one thing work-related Andrea did was looking for new horses. The riding school had grown over the past years and new horses were needed. Especially the groups with adult riders had grown and there was always a need for stable allround horses. She kept a look at all the major Swedish sites for horse advertising as well as kept in touch with friends and acquaintances all over Europe for leads on where she could find those perfect horses or ponies for her riding school. It was through one of these acquaintances that she heard of a grey Welsh Cob mare for sale in the UK. Andrea was enough up to date with what had happened in the UK that she knew importing horses from there might become trickier in the future. And this mare was too good to pass up on.

Personality: Ari loves to jump, she gets seriously frustrated when she isn't allowed to jump if she spies a hedge she isn't going over. Her trot is a hacker's dream and her jump makes Pony Club mums weep! She'll inspire confidence in the most novice of riders and can adapt quickly to their needs - anyone could look good riding her. She can be stubborn when being handled and has been known to bolt, but only in extreme circumstances, and usually directly for home. We swear she homes like a pigeon. (written by oakhollowd )

History: Arian came to Laura's attention when she was new to cubbing, and she would take Sinbad or Splash along for the fun. Her decorative colouring and showy jump caught her eye every time, so when she went up for sale she couldn't help but go along for a trial ride. The owner was sad to see her go, but he had been offered the job of Hunt Master several counties away and needed a bigger mount to lead the hunt on, so was parting with her for £2500, seriously underpriced to Laura. Eleanor watched her being ridden and after some consideration decided she'd be a fantastic addition to the school, and quickly towed her home to Oak Hollow. Once there, Ari was adored by the riding school children and Laura alike, her thick mane and silky feathers received a lot of attention and she was often taken to the cross-country course. Despite carrying a lot of novices over their first jumps Arian has developed a mothering nature rather than a rushing nature, and always takes perfect care of her charges. (written by oakhollowd )
