Yes, this is indeed quite different from what I usually do~
This was my piece for an assignment in my Character Design class.
The parameters called for a skeleton partially clothed, in order to
implement what we have practiced with proportion, anatomy, and
clothing material. This was also a great chance to practice lighting
and blending colours (especially pastel pencils, which I don't use
enough)!
I knew I wanted a good amount of fabric on this skeleton, and that
I at the minimum would focus on designing armor for the upper
body area. Here was where I could face my fears and put all those
random armor doodles I would make to use as well
Overall, I really enjoyed working on this one! It definitely made me
more comfortable with pastel pencils and working on (darker) toned
paper, and I can see myself making more finished artworks in this
medium again
And just a heads up, I've been really busy with school still, so I
probably will be sharing more of my school artworks/design stuff
sometime while I wait to have more time to work on my personal
digital concepts again
