I was approached by Hap-py to help out with making a concept for the group: the Mid-forms of Taums!
the image features a visual guide for these mid-forms featuring a monster/titan taum (guinea pig for this experiment) named Zeeth!

What are mid-forms?
This is a form that a Taum is able to take on that is usually a mix between the human and their original forms. These are not mandatory! These are optional for-fun forms that are available for your Taum to take!

How do they work?
Through magic (of course).
- mid-forms retain the features of the species and mix them with a more humanoid-leaning form
- the type of form taken depends on what the taum wishes the form to be used for (up to interpretation)

Mandatory features that should be visible when drawing the forms:
the Taum's eyes and facial markings
Secondary Claw sheaths on knuckles
a mix of both human form and taum design markings and patterns (up to interpretation)
Paw Pads (aka the colour that carries over from what the secondary human-like hand on the taum design is) on the human hands

Nin's ideas: (this is just my thoughts when concepting, feel free to use or disregard this info)
Selkie v1 CAPE: A quick and easy way to draw on the taum form's abilities that doesn't entirely impede the human form (acts more like a sleeve or cover)
Selkie v2 YETI: Draws more power from Taum form but is easier to go in and out of, and acts as an easier transition to were-form.
WereTaum: A complete 50/50 mix between both humanoid and taum forms. Where the Taum can draw on abilities from either form, but usually leaning more towards feral tendencies. Usually a very powerful but glass-cannon form in comparison to original taum one.

What are Taums? (copied from Hap-py 's blurb)
***Taums***
Taums are avian monsters that have two mouths; one is a beak, which can be inspired by the beak of any bird, and the other is a toothy mouth inspired by that of any beast, from bear-like fangs and boar tusks to rows of shark teeth. They have thick arms that end in bear-like claws, which can slice through the toughest of materials (e.g. dragon scales, metal, diamond). Underneath the big claws are dexterous human-like hands that can allow the taum to grasp onto objects. Their body type and structure is similar to that that of a human, including their legs and feet. They can run in a bipedal stance if preferred, but for speed they will often run on all fours.

Their purpose is very strange one: it is to find a place where they belong. Many are hermits, traveling from worlds, planes, dimensions, and space to find somewhere that is just perfect for them. At birth they will find themselves in a random place – it may or may not be the perfect place, but it’s always the beginning.

Since the way they are capable of traveling is a bit unconventional, the theory of parallel universes doesn’t work with taums. While there may be different versions of the same humans, animals, and places in different parallel universes, no such duplication can occur with taums. There is always only one of each individual taum, all across the dimensions and planes. No copies of an individual can exist.
