Description The carillon breaks my
Eardrums, everything breaks
I mouth my ears
And of course it's even worse
The needles will cut my throat
The taste of iron in the palace

Translated from the song Symphonie pour horloge cassΓ©e by Dionysos.

I love nothing more then to delve deeper into a character than the creators intended. And Reaver is perfect for that.
According to some people {including me}, Reaver looked somewhat older in Fable 3 than he did in his first appearance in Fable 2. His skin seemed paler and more sunken, and the corner of his eyes has a dark rotting sort of tint. Which made me feel as thought all these years of 'life' and his behavior has begun to rot him from the inside.
I see him realizing this, haunted by nightmares of this rotten sludge of sin oozing forth from him, breaking the skin and forcing its way to the surface. Where his humanity once was, now is filled with the darkness of his heart, bursting at the seams.

Haha, um... Or, you know, I just like to draw gross things. I wasn't planning on putting a mature warning on this because that isn't supposed to be blood coming from him, but if you feel it is necessary, please let me know.

Reaver, Fable belong to Lionhead Studios.

I believe that he looked so different in Fable 3 one can only assume hes starting to rot..... Though in the game if that happens thatd be so freaking awesome to see :3

This is an interesting theory for the King of Thieves. although do remember in the note he leaves the King/Queen that you find after the crawler attack. Its says he must make a journey that grows tiresome every year, its could also be that he replenishes the outside but not the inside, plus the habit of drinking a lot will diffidently damage the inside

I'm really glad to see that he has his weaknesses, as much as I love the cocky, confident Reaver. I mean, he's still human somewhere inside, and I wonder if he feels a little guilty from time to time. Or if he even shows fear when no one else is around.
I love artists who try to look deeper into characters. This is very well done, keep up the good work~

Yeah I think he really is still human on the inside if you think of it this way. He is human, a very lonely human, it would be such a curse to never feel but live a life in which he tries to express himself in other ways. Such as the following:

Addiction to sex: Trying to find a partnership after being alone for centuriesΒ
He's an acholic: Trying to drown his guilty memories and the rest of his problems
Addiction to killing: Feeling frustration towards others, along with the notion, "I'm going to hell anyway might as well" But his frustration that others have real friends and family and he does not

Power hungry: Has nothing else to really live for
Obsession with his looks: He has no one else to trust

Thus explaining Reaver's mental process

Thank you so very much. In my view of Reaver, all guilt was left behind years ago (at least in his conscious). The only human part of him left is his fear. Not that he would let anyone see.

Sometimes I feel sorry for him. By the time I found out about Reaver, I had the concept in my head that the only thing worse than death is living forever. But when I saw Reaver in Fable 2 I was like, "Wow... He's taking it well." :3
THEN I read his journal. D': I hope that in the next Fable game, the writers/creators will allow us to understand him even more.

I really do too. I'd like his story to come to a climax/turning point in the next game.

That kinda scared me at first, but its really neat...like, I love the way you delve into his character like you said, it just is so cool. I never would have thought to think of him rotting from the inside out like that.

OK. so the back-story to fable 3 was amazing. Just the execution of the actual game was horrible.

ninja-emo In reply to Kieshalee [2011-10-03 14:29:46 +0000 UTC]

Right? Thats what I realized after playing through a second time. It was actually a wonderfully complex, but the mechanics of it were the problem.

Kieshalee In reply to ninja-emo [2011-10-03 20:03:35 +0000 UTC]

Meaning 'After failing miserably the first time, then blowing through the whole thing again because you were so mad...'

at least that is what i did... only i got bored of waiting for enough money to come in so that i could do all the choices i wanted...

I think they spent too much time on the trophies. and forgot to make the game reasonably playable... the 365 day thing??? omg. i dont even want to start. i could fill up a book on how fail the mechanics of that game were. i could go on for hours and not be done.

Haha, thats exactly what happened to me the first time. I was playing through, la dee da, thinking I was doing good when all of a sudden, BAM! I have failed Albion. I raged so much. I started a new game right away, like, "THATS IT. I AM GONNA WIN THIS GAME AND I'M GONNA WIN IT HARD."
>:T

I'd love to see Reaver break down in the next game. Even just a bit in front of the next hero. Something to show that he's still human.

It's like... I don't want Reaver to die, but I'd like some sort of confrontation in the next game in regards to Reaver's living forever. Because I love drama, haha.

I'd really love for them to hire someone to write the rest of that in-game book "Reaver on Reaver and sell it. Because it seems like it would just be so interesting. Plus also finding out if Garth was killed by Reaver or not would be nice.
