Description
hi its been almost 4 months and i have finally decided to finish the map of iothea lol. thanks Akuno-Hana for drawing and creating literally th entire map for me, credit goes mostly to her. i just traced, colored and added a few details. gdfgdf make sure u zoom in all the way so u can read the text or see the detail!anyways these are not all the official locations on the map and it will be updated once more locations are discovered or thought of. some of these locations will be explored or explained more in depth later on in the group's story.
also i am rly open to this, so if you are a member of gem quest and your gem doesn't have their own kindergarten type listen on here (D
Here are some in depth descriptions of the listed locations:
- Ancient City: The Ancient City is the shining star of Iothea, similar to a capitol, every gem in Millennium's court lives here. The city is sprawling with mixed Ancient Egyptian and Medieval England inspired architecture. The city sits atop a hill of sandstone, overlooking the ocean and barren deserts. The city is surrounded by tough, rock walls and four large, wooden gates in each cardinal direction allow gems to enter or leave as they please. Wardens or hardened Warriors and Rogues patrol the top of these walls, watching for dangers on the outside, and possibly the inside.
- Private Facility: No one knows much of this mysterious structure. It isn't quiet ancient, nor is it modern. The only gems seen entering this facility are Millennium's Wardens, and no other gem has dared step near it. The Private Facility is cylindrical in shape, towering upwards. On the side of the smooth stone walls are mural-like carvings and etchings, but none of it is understandable.
- Pyramid Temples: These temples are the most common to come across on Iothea. Most of them are crawling with corruptions, and sometimes artifacts can be found here. Many an adventurer has been sent to these temples to delve in and discover it's secrets. Pyramid Temples often have mysterious patterns and murals carved into their walls and pillars. Most murals seem to have been vandalized or destroyed, not able to be deciphered.
- Fire Goblin's Retreat: The hordes of Fire Goblin Rubies gather here and roam these forests as if they owned them. An extremely dangerous place for a gem to dwell. Thousands of these corrupt Rubies seem to live in packs, ready to attack any gem that draws near.
- Weekly Dungeon: An extremely mysterious dungeon, this vault seems to change its format weekly; ready to take on any adventurer with new traps, corruptions, and loot. The outside of this dungeon, however, seems to stay the same, ancient in structure with strange hieroglyphs etched into its supports.
- Grassland Temple: N/A
- Common Gem Kindergarten: Common gems like rubies and topazes are created here. The kindergarten is nestled on a large island near the Ancient City. This island is covered with grass and sand, resembling a common deserted island. Gems here emerge from the large rocks that sit upon the beach or within it's small wooded areas.
- Plasma River: This river is extremely lethal, making it very hard to cross. The water that runs down its streams is a bright glowing red, dangerous to even be near. Red, corrupt, crystalline structures often jut out of the river, emanating a strange sound, mixed of simultaneous whispers and screams. Any gem that falls into the river's bloody depths is never seen or heard of again.
- Blighted Peaks: Twice as lethal than the Plasma River, strange red streaks of corruption, run down the side of this volcano and its mountains. The volcano itself seems to have lost activity, but no gem knows the entropy that may ensue if it awakens.
- Red Lyrium Kindergarten: A kindergarten built within the confines of the mountainous, corrupted region.
- Blighted Lagoon: A corrupted lagoon of water, similar to the Plasma River.
- Underground Temple Entrance: Resting just below the valleys that face Blighted Peaks, a large ancient structure covered in vines and carvings sits silently, leading those who enter deep into the underground of Iothea. This is where the rebel group, The Tempests, make their home. These underground structures span across the continent, with many roads and rooms where the rebels are free to roam. Many abandoned temples in the underground, however, are also sprawling with corrupted monsters and hidden knowledge. Many fallen structures block the paths and it can be quite dangerous to explore the underground's depths.
- Quartz Kindergarten: One of the largest Quartz kindergartens, many Quartz gems emerge from the side of this kindergarten's mountains.
- Underground Temple Exit: In the deserted valley, below the Quartz Kindergarten, is the hidden exit to the Underground Temple. Few Tempests have traveled this far in the underground, but this location provides a safe exit for those in trouble.
- Wyvern's Roost: A large area sprawling with caves and nooks. Corrupted Dragon's Breath Opals make their homes here, living together, and ready to attack any gem foolish enough to enter their territory.
- Destroyed Moss Agate Kindergarten: A former Moss Agate Kindergarten, a forest kindergarten resting next to a shallow lake. The site of a horrific event in which a mass amount of Moss Agates were shattered by a horde of Dragon's Breath Wyverns.
- Moss Agate Kindergarten: new moss agate kindergarten cause they needed one ),:
- Ancient Underwater Ruins: N/A
- Aquatic Gem Kindergarten: An underwater kindergarten where aquatic gems, like lapises and aquamarines are grown.
- Grisaille Oasis: N/A
- Pearl Kindergarten: An underwater inlet. The location where most pearls are grown.
- Vargouille's Nest: A roost nestled atop the peaks of the region's mountains, and a place where Vargouille Zoisite's reside. The Vargouille's here are known to descend upon their victims and quickly dispatch them.
- Blue Lyrium Kindergarten: A bright snowy region upon the mountains, next to waterfalls and overlooking the rivers they lead into.
- Frost Gem Kindergarten: A kindergarten resting upon ice and snow within the tundra, created for growing cold, frosty gems like Sapphires.
- Forbidden Temple Ruins: N/A
- Ancient Monochrome City: The location of a foggy, mysterious ruin. The air about this place seems to send shivers down the spine. Silent and watching, this quiet ruin is composed of broken down, sleek structures of black and white shades. No signs seem to indicate how this ruin was created or why, or who even built it.
- Monochrome Temple: Directly across from the ruined black and white city, is a temple of similar architecture and nature. The entrance to this temple seems to be blocked off and impossible to access.
- Ancient Ruins of Rejuvenation: Somewhat peaceful, but also unsettling, quiet ruins that rest upon the top of the highest peak in this region. The ruins are of destroyed Indian architecture with large vines encasing most of it's structure. Some gems are said to make a pilgrimage up to these ruins and seek tranquility. Many of the murals here seem to have been destroyed by something.
- Ancient Meteorite Temple: A dark and rugged temple with walls that seem to resemble the look and texture of a meteorite. The air surrounding this area seems to let off a powerful aura, invigorating any who draw near. The entrance to this temple is heavily guarded by stone, graphite-like warrior statues, warding off any who attempt to enter.
- Ancient Palace of Symmetry: An oddity of a palace, seemingly untouched by nature or anything else, but surrounded by a protective, impenetrable barrier. When gazing through, the palace is a shimmering beauty, with perfectly aligned structure and detail. The mysterious dwelling seems to have a glistening, glass-like staircase that leads into the inside, and exactly in the center of the palace's staircase is a star-shaped structure that sparkles as bright as the sun.
- Ancient Kintsugi Temple : This temple, settled in Iothea's farthest reaches, silently sits upon the snow. The temple seems to be made of a faded gold, with cracks of brighter gold lining its sides. The entrance to this beautiful sanctuary seems to be sealed off by the same golden cracks, mending the doors together and making them unable to be opened. The air around this location feels unsettling, worrying. When putting an ear against it's impenetrable doors, the sound of clockwork, gears, and puffing steam can be heard from inside.
OK i spent 3 hours writing this if u want a location added hmu

Awesome! So, is there any other reason to the locations besides aesthetic stuff, or will they serve more of a purpose later on?

Is this the entire planet or is it just a continent with some islands?
