Description I'm not dead yet and this submission is proof. xD

I drew this as an entry for a local contest (Young At Art).

The paper I used for this one is bigger than usual so I had to scan it twice - top and bottom and matched them up using PhotoShop. Of course, PhotoShop didn't cooperate with my crappy computer so I had to resize it several times and now it doesn't look as good. *whines*

Sketch: 1 hour. x__x Flowers were hard.
Inking: 30 mins. I didn't ink everything.
Colouring: MAAANY hours. (I'm gonna guess 6-8.)
Reeve's watercolours.

Her hair is suppose to be going from "cool" colours to "warm" ones, showing that winter is melting into spring. Her crown is suppose to be melting too...but now it just looks like I didn't colour it properly. >>;;;

Edit: I hope this doesn't show up in your inbox again. x__x But uh...this piece managed to get the "Ottawa Public Library Award" and I was awarded $50 in Chapters giftcards! Hehe...it's not bad for my first time entering. Thanks so much for all the kind comments on this one. ^^

Beautifull work!!! I love how the crown was melted in they hair... maybe the change of colours from cold to warm must be more soft, like diluting from one to other...

Haha, I'm still an EXTREMELY impatient person...which is why all my paintings/drawings start off okay but the quality kinda plummets near the end cuz I don't have the patience to work on detail. xD

Lisa, that's so damn good D: LET ME KILL YOU NOW D< The colours are great, you did really well painting it, I find watercolours so difficult to use, but you've done it so professionally :c

and the earring and crown totally do look like they're melting, it's a really cool effect, adds to the mood :B The girl's expression also adds to the mood, she looks kinda thoughtful and sombre, maybe even sad...

It looks awwweeeeesssommmmmeeee and the concept is great too, very original portrayal of the change of season The pure white bird adds an interesting effect (interesting being good in this case ), and I looove the change of colour in the hair.

Great job, and good luck in the contest (that I was too scared to join because I knew awesome pieces like THIS would be entered and completely beat the shit outta mine D< )

Also, I didn't enter because 1. too intimidated/low self-esteem and more primarily, 2. too lazy :B I had a fleeting thought of joining the photography contest section but then I thought "ohshi- there'll be tons moar betterer stuff than mine D:" and so decided that I'd be beaten no matter what, so I woulnd't even bother entering :B defeatist and pessimistic attitude ftw!
