Just the rough color layout for my sexy Steampunk Ursula :3Just a note....
Before I get any repeat questions I would like to address why I made my Ursula "skinny." I could be like well..because I felt like it..lol but no I actually put thought into this before hand when coming up with this design. First off I know the waist is exaggerated. Its a style I do and that I like. It is in no way proportioned and I know this. I do this to all my characters I draw in corsets. I derived the over exaggeration from old Victorian drawings of tight lacing. Second, when I was a child I always thought Ursula must of been one of those old vain women who loved to reminisce on how wonderful they looked in their 20s. My choice of size does not reflect on how I feel about larger people, especially since I am no stick myself. It is just an exaggerated style of drawing I'm currently fascinated with.

I love the drawing, I love the style and I love the hair but from an objective point of view, why did you feel the need to make Ursula so skinny? There's a plethora of lovely Disney villainesses that could also pull off the exaggerated waist line very well indeed ( Maleficent, Lady Tremaine, The Evil Queen, Cruella De Ville etc. etc.) So it seems strange to take away a signature look of this leading lady, it's not like pinup or steam punk are styles starved of many different shapes and sizes which can - and are - sexy without being tiny in the waist. I for one would have loved to seen a more curvy Ursla in your unique style - especially to set her apart from the lolita princesses you've done in the past.

I modeled the look from old corset drawings from the Victorian times where they would extremely exaggerate the waist line. It was a way to express the curves a corset can give, especially in the world of tight lacing. Actually I would still consider Ursula curvy in this, and also a lot younger. The Ursula we know in the movie to me always seemed older..and a women who was once very beautiful and admitted to living in the palace at on time.Β
Im not a thin girl..but with tight lacing I can acquire that exaggerated shape. Obviously, this is how I stylize corsets which is just my style of drawing that I like so I wont change it, so bringing up the obvious is kinda silly.
