The problem is i am afraid of ruining the picture with watercolours............like the watercolour did not work or i did somehting wrong and my favorite piece of work (usually the one that i am happy to paint with) get ruins and i have to start all over again..........

That's so true! But remember that there can't be creativity if there is fear.

What colours did you use to create the skin tone, or did you have a paint that's in skin tone?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nokecha In reply to DontTakeMe [2010-09-26 11:46:28 +0000 UTC]

I used red, yellow and white.

I think I just fell in love.....
This helped me a lot, because I paint watercolors in a weird way. When ever I asked for help/advice, my art teacher and my classmates are always like "We can't really help you much, we have no idea what you're doing..." lol fail so thanks for the tutorial
I don't think I've ever typed so much lol*huffhuff*

Yes, I think some of my traditional art thecniques are a bit different that the usual ones. The english name of the anime is also Elfen Lied. Lovely name! (But not so lovely anime D: )

i finally got some watercolors that arent those preschool kits but the tubes and some decent brushes and im excited to try them i bought watercolor paper but i was wondering, i know the paper is gonna have some sort of wave to it once the water touches it and i was wondering how to prevent it. should i just masking tape the paper down or is there something else i have to do as well?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nokecha In reply to LaraMuk [2010-05-04 02:14:14 +0000 UTC]

Great! I'm not sure how this technique works with tube watercolors, but I think it's ok. It's good idea to tape the paper on some kind of plate/tablet. I think that's enough preparations

MissJuli In reply to ??? [2010-02-20 20:46:16 +0000 UTC]

this really helped me thanks for making this tutorial! am wondering about the background, when you painted the area where the hair is lying, did you paint right over it or did you get picky and coloured between the hairs? that is my most problem with watercolour to not ruin the character. I always do the background first 'cause that it feel like I would ruin it ^^

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nokecha In reply to MissJuli [2010-02-21 18:29:58 +0000 UTC]

Great to hear that! Well, I think I colored around the hair. I usually love to paint very little details.
