Description
This is a photo-manip for a school project I had to do. It took a long time over the past couple of days, but I am quite happy with the results. (I hope my teacher is!)Here is a list of all of the stock art I used:

Ok, I am an amateur though. I am by no means a professional "photo-manipulator" if there is such thing. You have to remember that this is an online community of both amateur and professional artists.
I welcome suggestions, and I'll take your 'comments' into consideration.

A job well done, although I do agree with the comment above regarding the lack of depth & transition between the human skin and metal. Other than that, it is a great composition - the way you constructed the exoskeleton almost seamlessly from so many stock photos is especially impressive.
But more importantly, hats off to you for producing a most refreshing manipulation I've seen in a while. That alone in my opinion made this DD well-deserved indeed! Congrats!

I have to agree with you on the transition though, I did this over a span of 3 days during my waking hours. After submitting it to my teacher, I panicked over all the errors I had made, namely the skin.

On the whole it's great work and I like it. Something that throws me off though is the skin. Specifically the skin on the arm on the right side (Our right, it's left). It just doesn't blend well. Since the skin itself would probably represent more tan the thin epidermal and the entire system including some overlaying muscles it took me off guard as some pieces grafted on lack the depth around the edges connecting to the metal that would suggest thickness. When it looks 2-d it kind of throws me off. Anyways there you are. As it stated above "Advance Critique" so I put on my persnickety gaze and gave it a once over; However, don't let it deter you from thinking this isn't a good or creative piece. It is both.

Oh I want Advanced Critique for everything! I can take it (3 years of school in Graphic Design in face-to-face critique groups will do that to you), it's certainly part of the learning process.
And yep, the skin. It worried me after I had submitted it to my teacher. I agonized over whether I should include muscle, or not. But given the time I had, I figured that a little shading would do! I would like to do more in the future, on my own leisurely time.

I give for whats asked. I liked advance critique too, but I reserve it for only when people ask. Sometimes it's just not what people want to hear on DA and as much as I'd love to be 'that art critic' there are rules of commenting here on DA.

That's good to hear. I personally enjoy getting advance critique on my pictures as long as they tell me what areas need work and why. I dislike something that just says "It sucks" or whatever the case may be. As long as it's constructive and shows me where I need and/or can improve.

I completely agree with you. The thing though with comments like "It sucks" is that they reek of jealousy and/or holier-than-thou attitudes.

Brilliant work, which illustrates the benefit of education over being self taught. The list of stock that you used is an education in itself. The symmetry is amazing and the way the pieces fit like an extremely well thought out jigsaw puzzle is a credit to you. Visually stunning as well.....I guess you can tell that I like this piece

Thanks so much! I would not have been able to achieve these results with limited photos, I needed the 21 photos to get to this point. I scanned over stock photos for days here on DA, made sure that everything would indeed fit together.
