Description this is an updated version of the Tin Man from "The Wizard of Oz." Dorothy and Scarecrow are also going to be in this piece. This is my first grad portfolio project. I have two more revamped W.O.Z pieces I'll be posting by the end of July.

I stumbled across your site yesterday and saw this piece of the Tin Man which I think is awesome as hell! I read that you mentioned you would be putting out the other 2 characters by July. Is this still going to happen and was that July of 2011?

Thank you!

I have to say, this is one of the kooler looking re-vamps of the Tin Man I've seen!

Nice work! I need to get on the ball with my version of him as well.
He's been kind laying on a pile of papers colecting dust.

Great Metalic effects on teh tin man, what did you use? any airbrushing involved, or drybrush?

Thanks, mang. Just delta ceramicoat paints and regular synthetic brushes.

So detailed and well done, I prefer this scarier but better tinman to the one in the movie... you have a thing for Wizard of Oz, don't you.

Excellent pose and background!

hah, that's pretty cool. His pose is perfect -- it really looks like he's in mid-motion, about to strike that tree down.

nomichs In reply to horusfeathers [2004-06-29 00:35:48 +0000 UTC]

thanks, dude. It's actually the scene where Dorothy finds him all frozen and rusted. I wanted him to look like he was in mid swing before the rain started falling and caused him to seize up. Im going to add a lot more rust and moss to him. I was also thinking of puting birds or a nest on him.
