For me, Andurs, the Priest of Arkay from Whiterun, is the derpy version of Anders, the cat-loving revel mage from Dragon Age. Like Mulag Bhl is the derpy version of Molag Bal.
And Many-Scars just loves upgrading gear for his followers.

You know there is actually an Anders in Skyrim. You find his skeleton in the Twilight Sepulcher in the the thieves guild quest line. I remember thinking, "So this is what Anders did after Kirkwall."
