Description
These are the basics (and some seldom known details) on how the core looks and works. Thanks for everyone who looked at my previous tutorials. I have something very interesting planned for the next tone too.
p.S. The core is a sexy thing whether it's muscular, or not. When I'm done detailing the parts of the body, I'm going to cover different body types, gestures, character work etc...
Please keep checking in. We have a lot to go over

thanks. yeah, the core is probably my favorite part. It's really simple, but can be complicated at the same time. It lends itself to the artist b/c you can upgrade of downgrade ur detail as you wish.

It didn't have one originally, and everything was fine, but DA put it on after some sensitive words were posted by a viewer, or two, I'm not sure.
--> I'm fine with it if it helps keep things chill. DA told me they have no problem with the piece themselves, and that's more than enough for me. Honestly I just want to contribute something .

Being a woman myself, I cannot agree with the last two points. It's true, though, that in comics women do those weird poses.

of course on the woman there are huge tits and a huge ass. "some women twist pretty hard," you know, because being female makes you more capable of twisting than if you're male. Love how of course DA has no problem with uncensored breasts, but they ban people's art if it's males being exposed.

Oh my god. Are you seriously complaining about that? I'm pretty sure the artist is allowed to draw people any way they want - you know, because they're the artist - and that the whole, 'Some women twist pretty hard,' thing was a bit of a joke. Like, not a, 'HAHAHAHA HOLY GOD THAT WAS HILARIOUS DO IT AGAIN!' but, you know, just a bit of a, 'Hah funny guy anyway thanks for the tutorial, it was really helpful!'
In case I was too subtle: shit happens. Calm your tits. Speaking as a female of the species, I actually have no idea what your problem is. You don't seem to be complaining about the fact that the guys are ripped, what's with that? LET'S REPORT THIS PERSON FOR THEIR PERSONAL OPINION OF AESTHETIC APPEARANCE REGARDING THE HUMAN BODY.

I think it's just necessary to exaggerate things so the viewer gets the general idea. Obviously it's hard to find people who actually look like that, but if they're displayed like this in the tutorial, the reader can tell the important parts to stress when drawing each gender. If the woman wasn't curvy here, it would be more difficult to tell the characterizing differences in core anatomy. They need to be made obvious. I don't know, just a hunch. When you draw people, you're more than welcome to draw them realistically. This is just to show the prominent differences in anatomical structure.

The lower body of a woman SHOULD be larger, especially for hourglass/pear shaped women, and same goes for the bust. For healthy women, anyway. And some people get confused with the direction of a woman's breast, so it's actually quite educational.
Sorry about the misuse of the word "and" at certain places.

Dx33x In reply to cassannder [2014-03-22 11:43:05 +0000 UTC]
I don't really get what's your problem... The female butt and breasts are actually rather average. I mean what are they? B cup? Even if they were C cup, that's still the most common cup size around the globe. I would understand it if it was a Double D if you felt offended but this is hardly something to get annoyed about. Besides, if you take a look at professional anatomy books, even -medicine- books, you will see that the butt of a woman is way more round than the one of a male. The female body is shaped differently from the male one, having differently shaped hip bones as well as a way higher amount of under-skin fat than males which makes female bodies more round and giving them the typical 'soft' and 'smooth' feeling.
Also: Women ARE way more flexible than men. This is a given fact as the lower concentration of testosterone in female bodies causes their fibers to be more elastic and having roughly 12% less muscle mass in their body (reason why males of the same height as females are usually heavier) The choice of words up there might not be perfect, but from the way I see it, it's actually a joke about the typical 'Pin Up' pose many artists draw, twisting the female body way more than anatomically possible to show a frontal shot in which both, panties and breasts are seen (sidenote: Up there the shot is from above and tested it out myself, twisting this much -is- possible.)
Beside all of this, 'DA has no problem with uncensored breasts, but they ban people's art if it's males being exposed' -> Have you even taken a close look at the tutorial up there? You can see male nipples, you can see female nipples, you see a male butt, you see a female butt. You won't see a penis, you won't see a vagina. So what exactly is the artist of the tutorial making a difference here? This is a tutorial to teach other artists how to properly draw and bend the human body, displaying the muscles and different curves correctly. And it is an anatomical fact that females HAVE breasts. It is a bit of a difference if you display a set of uncovered breasts or having a man holding his boner toward the viewer.
Male chests are often drawn without being covered in the slightest, all over dA and no one cares or minds, but when a female breast is exposed, people suddenly call sexism.
I understand that sexifying women is a BIG problem in society, but it becomes an even bigger problem if people that treat males and females 100% alike, as in this tutorial, get talked down or accused of sexism when they are doing the most 'feminist' thing possible: They treat males and females alike. That's what feminism means. Not to give special treatment to women, but to give women the same rights and respect as men. THAT is feminism and THAT is equality right there.
The human body is something truly beautiful and no matter if male or female you can either completely 'sexy'-fy it or show it in esthetic ways. This goes for male and female bodies alike. It won't help women in society if we suddenly treat their bodies as something that needs to be hidden and covered, we need to shift focus from sexualizing them to showing the esthetic aspect more. If you think dA bans everyone showing off 'male parts', take a look at the great galleries of people like Torsal or zakharova . There are great artistic portraits of men in an esthetic and yet very appealing way. (And I bet if a female posed this way you'd call it sexist again as well...but on males they are very appealing, right? Just food for thought on equality.)
For great female artistic pictures you should check out Mastowka and PixelPerfectPhotog . Just because a picture shows the curves of a woman or her uncovered breasts, doesn't make it sexists... These potographs are great artistic works in my opinion that bring out the beauty of both sexes perfectly without overly sexualizing either gender, reducing them to their genitals.
I agree with you 100% that society is flooded with pictures in which women are degraded to looking sexy and nothing else, but don't mix a naturally shaped female body with over sexualizing and showing an uncovered female body as sexist. It really isn't helping those people who are actually fighting for the -same- rights for females and males.

if you look at their profile they have an irrational grudge for these things. the fact they did not even catch that the twisting comment was a jab at over-sexualization of women in the industry, says a lot about them. they're just offended to be offended.

Actually I don't think woman are more flexible than men. I took a kinesiology class where we had to do a bunch of flexibility tests and they told us there was only one test woman statistically score better than men on for the rest men tended to score better.

Aelorn In reply to MorningGirl [2014-03-22 23:38:14 +0000 UTC]
Maybe its a case of... women's muscles are more likely to stretch, but (statistically and societally speaking) men are more likely to have developed flexibility? Society does tend to have more men as being athletic than women. Not that that's always true, of course.

Dx33x In reply to MorningGirl [2014-03-22 16:04:23 +0000 UTC]
Interesting. I'm not sure but it is the way I was taught it at university. Our anatomy and physiology professors showed us statistics in which women have a more elastic structure of fibers and cartilage, but the greatest influence on flexibility is the strength of the flexors and extensors as they are contradict each other. The stronger the muscles the harder it is to stretch as the extensor/flexor prevents it.

Those tits are pretty average. Not huge anyway. And the ass too. The difference is that the male has a more muscular ass, while the woman has more fat. Which I think is pretty much as it is in reality when it comes to average healthy people.
