Unlike Peter, I couldn't just update my older sketch of Ray because I used a different sketch for tonight's ink practice!This inking practice didn't go as well as Peter's did, but that's why I'm still practicing.
Can you tell I didn't spend one second longer than I had to on the goggles? Haha. xD
HEY! Did you know Ray has two different-colored eyes?! I didn't, until today. I was having a hard time determining whether his eyes were GREEN or BROWN, and it turns out both are right! xD Or at least that's what Google says. Google better be right, because I am so in love with this new finding. Ray keeps bringing me wonderful new reasons to love him. Once again, childhood me really had the right idea crushing on this cutie, at least in the cartoon.

Edit: I wasn't thinking this through when I did his portrait - his Ecto-goggles cover his hair. So for my own reference, or yours, if you ever feel like drawing this doggo, his hair looks like so:

Someone had said it, and if that's true, that might explain why in some pictures I saw on IMDb, Dan's wearing sunglasses, and not the normal kind, they look like prescription glasses. I'm not sure.

The way you drew Ray here reminds me a bit of how Itchy from All Dogs Go to Heaven and the twins from Aristocats. I think what I like about Ray is how estatic and eager he is honestly.

It's amazing you should mention the character from the Aristocats, because when I had my doggo version of Ray in mind, it reminded me of that character, so I used it as reference when I would get stuck on certain things. I think I also had Itchy in mind, although not too strongly. I was trying to think of why a dog with goggles looked so visually familiar to me, and my first thought was Itchy, but now I'm not sure if he does wear goggles like that...?

Itchy doesn't wear goggles but a hat and a sleeveless shirt. But either way I think Itchy and Ray are both equally lovable.

Yeah! I had never seen the original movies until maybe 10 years ago, and I remember liking the cartoon...vaguely...but I didn't get fully into it until the new one. Then I went back and re-enjoyed all the others with a new appreciation! xD
