Made for the Issues Contest by MoonlightImages (Theme 3).
This manipulation was intended to portray how our Human Race is destroying everything. We destroy each others with war, hating other people for their creeds, beliefs, culture or just skin colour. We also destroy our world just to have more money and power, polluting, killing animals, etc. In this society of mass consumption we are more worried about not having the latest cellphone or dressing fashionable clothes... But we never think that there are people dying right now in some part of the world, some are starving, others are running for their lives, and then there are people being forced to work in dehumanized ways to produce what we're buying. That kind of things are the ones to determine the fate of the next generations. Why can't we live in peace with everyone, given that we're all the same? Why can't we go back to the roots, respecting nature and taking care of it? Why can't some even question this kind of life? Why?... IT'S TIME TO OPEN OUR EYES AND MAKE A CHANGE!

I hear you. Believe me, some do question and challenge. What is getting socialized into people, what they are told to value, who they are told to hate, the lies they are told in the media, the pitting of everyday folk against everyday folk - this is a big part of the problem. So we do need more people choosing to reject that and starting to think for themselves, to choose a different track.

You're right. It's time to wake up, open our eyes and start to see the lies that surrounds us. At first it's hard to reject what we're told, see that nothing is what we used to think, but at the end it's worth it and if we can do something to convince others or help in some ways it's better.

I agree totally. I remember coming to realize how much I had been manipulated by sources I previously thought I could trust, see the real picture start coming into view, and my mind was quite resistant, even felt a bit physically sick about it (I mean, one of the most common tricks you'll find is that people who are shouting the loudest and pointing the fingers at others are often the very worst perpetrators themselves - they hide their actions in 'plain view' by reflecting them on to another party. All the evidence you ever need is already right there staring you in the face, it is just how we've been encouraged to digest it). I try and help people through my art and commenting on newsboards, talking to people I know. Sometimes that is all it takes to give permission to others, who have also noticed things but had doubted themselves, to start doing the same. People are waking up.
