Description
Olga caught by my 5D Mark III. My second portrait shoot (shot 40 headshots yesterday) with the new camera. It has exceeded all my expectations; taking the game-changing 5D Mark II and improving upon it. The new focusing system is completely and utterly sublime. Words simply cannot do it justice. The 85mm f/1.8 USM is excellent bang for buck. Closed down a bit, this lens obtains remarkable sharpness.

I have been a wee bit torn between the D800 and the 5D MkIII, I opted for the D800 in the end, already having ~£3k's worth of lenses made it a bit of a no brainer. But I would have quite liked to have given Canon a go.

Kalavere,
I'm sure you're enjoying your D800. I'm a Canon man through and through. I just prefer the ergonomics and the colour straight out of Canon cameras.
Cheers.

H

Ironically, since I commented on your photo I have switched to a 5D Mark III! The 5D is simply an amazing camera, I haven't looked back since I made the switch, albeit only a couple of weeks ago!

rubyan,
Thank you! The 85mm lens, while it isn't an L-series lens, is remarkably sharp, particularly when stopped down a bit.
Cheers.
