Description
Late afternoon sunlight illuminates submerged rocks in a stream in the Tutuko Valley in Milford Sound.Typically, this region would be wet, but, after having experienced the heaviest rain in a decade, the entire valley was full of streams, creeks and rivers which made trekking a lot of fun! Light was fading quickly, and I had a couple of hours to get back to my lodge for the evening, so I packed up, turned around and headed back straight after having nabbed this image.
This is a very heavy crop from the full frame image, less than 50%.

This photo is something that makes me have to adjust my eyes a lot. The textured stones above the water stand out so much against the soft background, it's really mind blowing. It looks like they're sitting on top of a painting!

Sedona,
Thank you.
My goal is to present images which resemble paintings. Judging by your comment, I feel as though my goal was achieved with this particular image.
Cheers.

H

it was most definitely achieved. to take a photo that really doesn't look like a photo is something that is really hard to do. (don't I know it <___<; )
Looking forward to your next pieces <3

Evafromhell,
Thanks, heaps. This one has garnered a bit of a mixed response. Some people like it, others dislike it. Abstract photography is very hard, and, it's something I shy away from as I'm not very good at it. I have lots of respect for people who are able to convey an emotion or a message through their abstract works of art.
Cheers!
Regards,
H
