Description

A completed commission for a co-worker, he wanted an image of his deceased grandmother. A rather intimidating project I’ll admit.

When people ask for a relative, pet, or friend, especially one that has passed tend to have an expectation of what they reflected onto the images. Of how they perceived their loved ones in the past, even if the quality of the work is good.

Its hard to capture that in an illustration, especially from an outsiders perspective. With any luck however, he’ll be pleased with this!

I can also say that this is my first full on painting piece I have done digitally. Would love to know what you guys think!
Should I do more like this, or stick to what I'm acquainted with already?

I think that if you like trying this new type of painting then you should do more of it. It would also be nice to see. This is a really wonderful piece.

Alright! Thank you for your input!
I really did enjoy it so, I probably will try to do more like it in the future if I can. Its completely different then the kind of style I usually do, should  be a fun challenge!

It is very different than the stuff I usually see you make, and although this is new for you it's still really well done.

Doing more like this will help you improve a whole lot more. At your Picarto stream when you were doing stuff like this they were all still cartoony/anime-y but in this one it's more realistic. Do more then pretty soon they'll be BAM! amazingly real.

Oh I have no doubt about that.
The picarto ones were just for fun, something I could pull together quickly because people were watching. And sadly peeps tend to lose interest after about 2 hours if it doesnt progress far.

Practice makes perfect as they say! I got plenty more practice to go I imagine.

They were amazing none the less.
And yeah, I could see a few people losing interest after a good
2 hrs. But at the same time I could see a lot of people that would
stick around just for you.

yup, practice practice practice. Then after that MORE PRACTICE.
It's a never ending cycle
